Tessa Thompson is always great as far as I’m concerned.

Wouldn’t have minded Korg actually dying when he fell apart, though I must admit to laughing at him finding love in the epilogue with a mustached version of himself.

I thought it was good, not great. Kinda felt like filler in a way?

Something will certainly hit The Discourse and totally get blown up on the wrong side of Twitter eventually is that in Ragnarok, Korg talks about his mom and her boyfriend. Not that continuity has always been the strongest part of the MCU... but the worst people in your life who hated Lightyear for a .3 second kiss will also be up in arms about this.

There are pretty major character developments that affect the future of the franchise regarding Thor and Jane, I can not get on board with calling this filler.

  7. I fucking loved it - was laughing the entire time and bale was unsurprisingly excellent and genuinely creepy

  9. I guess I'm one of the few here that really enjoyed this. I didn't groan at the humor as much as a lot of y'all. Bale brings a lot to a character with little dimension (as did Cate Blanchett with Hela). There are some truly beautiful visuals in this, particularly towards the end. Idk I had fun with it.

Cute article about Chris Hemsworth’s daughter playing Gorr’s daughter.

I enjoyed this. The fight in the shadow realm was the best scene in the film, the frame effect is stunning stuff. Unfortunately this can’t reach the heights of Ragnarok but I was really happy to see Jane Foster/Natalie again. Tessa/Valkyrie was a highlight as well. I thought Christian was also pretty good even though the tonal changes were noticeable but it wasn’t too distracting. The stuff with the kids at the end was pretty corny but I'm sure as a family film it’s enjoyable (minus the numerous instances of the word “shit!”)

I really liked it. Only complaints were the Guardians felt off/only there because of Endgame and I wasn’t a big fan of Omnipicity/Zeus, but they were small parts in an otherwise enjoyable, fun movie.

    some awful CGI throughout

    Bale was solid, loved Crowe

    this was fun.

just as I expected, Taika cranked the "haha" up to twelve. kinda too much "haha" tbh.

i enjoy Taika. but knowing his tendencies, i knew he'd rely on the "haha" too much, which I think he did.

I don’t necessarily buy it as a fun, dumb comic book movie. Like, I think of “Ragnarok” as more of that because it’s more of a revenge and team-up movie. This has storylines about killing gods for being selfish and turning their backs on their worshippers and someone dying of cancer. I feel like Waititi has bigger aspirations for this and just didn’t nail the balance it needed. I am glad other people are liking it. Someone was bawling in the theater during the Eternity scene (which I thought was pretty well done).

I still like Waititi, especially for bringing us the “What We Do In The Shadows” series and “Reservation Dogs,” but I feel like we need a little time away from him.

It definitely felt rushed, especially the first act but I’m also glad it wasn’t 3 hours long.
