Thought this was okay. Way too much going on for Waititi to handle. How are you gonna cast Bale as the God Butcher and only have one god butchered?

As much as I love Korg, there was way too much of a reliance on him for comic relief. And Waititi tried to cram in so many zingers that it reminded me of all the reasons I didn’t like GOTG2.

The second half is better than the first. We should have got more of that movie.

Technically there were two butchered gods. They showed that big one in the snow or whatever.

As soon as the trio make it to the shadow realm the film gets much better…and interesting.

Apparently we were going to get scenes of Ditri and the Grandmaster getting butchered but they were cut.

This seems to happen a lot in the MCU, where characters were going to die in a film and then the scene gets cut. I actually approve of that because if the character doesn't officially die, then they can go on to do other things.

For example, Sif didn't die in Ragnarok, so that left her free to show up in this film. Razor Fist was going to die in Shang Chi, and instead he ends the film at Xialing's command.

I have to wonder if these deaths were cut because they have uses for the characters in the future. Same with Mordo's cut death scene in Madness.

Frankly, I'm always a fan of characters staying alive. I hate when toys are thrown out of the toybox.

  6. Boy I hated the goats in this. Like Marvel or Taika have to draw the line somewhere and that is the goats for me

Weird start to our showing -- after we sat for twenty minutes in the dark, they just launched right in the movie. No trailers, no Nicole Kidman.

And, unrelated, I'm very happy for Brett Goldstein.

I’d love more Eitri. Feeling eh about Grandmaster unless Taika is involved.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

the goats were the best part of this tbh

Korg was the worst. holy shit they needed to cut him back severely. I love you Taika but cmon man

This movie is fucking frustrating. Taika is a borderline awful writer. Some great ideas that go no where and my GOD the “humor”

i had fun. christian was wasted with a nothing part and im tired of taika but it wasn't bad. the black and white scene was genuinely thrilling. also saw Love was played by chris' daughter irl which was cool

Much better than I expected after the reviews. Probably my second favorite of the phase 4 movies so far.

Yeah, the humor was off but it certainly didn’t make it the worst marvel film like some critics have said. I’d watch this again over MOM.

It’s also a better movie than Eternals, but for some odd reason I still rewatch Eternals. I like the world in it, I just don’t like the story of that world.

MOM was just a disappointment for me. The first Strange is a top 10 Marvel film, imo, and with Raimi I just got my hopes too high.

I can’t imagine thinking this was the worst Marvel movie when there’s far worse with almost zero entertainment value.

    Like Thor 1

I rewatched all of the MCU earlier this year and it was the one I could barely get through. TDW isn’t that good but it at least has a flavor.

Bale was great in this with what little he had. The Shadow Realm was cool but mostly this just felt like a collective shrug

I mean, if we’re talking Christian Bale in Movies Based on North American Superhero Comic Franchises, I… like his Gorr more than his Batman?

Which I almost hate to say, because it feels like the kind of unpopular opinion someone would tweet with a picture of someone surrounded by swords. But, hey, whatever. I’m just never going to be as into his Bruce Wayne as 99% of people who talk about superheroes online do.

Most of the performances in this weren't great. I enjoyed the movie more than a lot of you, but Portman was much better at the serious stuff in this than the comedy, Bale was creepy minus whatever he was doing inside the cage with the kids, Thompson was meh, but I thought the same thing about her in Ragnarok, Korg was fine, nothing special. I thought Hemsworth and Crowe were easily the best within the context of the film.
