I like that Beth, Toby and Miguel all have different exposures to the family knowing them for different time periods. Miguel has been around forever, knowing Jack, Beth has been around for a long time and knows the dynamic, and Toby is relatively new.
this is us coming in clutch to make me instantly forget two of my least favorite teams could win the super bowl by making me sob for an hour.
Can’t remember but where are Randall and Kate when the switch goes all haywire? We obviously know Kevin is getting it on.
One of my biggest gripes with the show to this point has been that the three eras of Kate don't really feel like the evolution of a single person but the last two episodes pretty much completely corrected it.
I’ve seen 4 episodes of this show at random intervals. The super bowl episode hit me hard because I lost my dad 2 years ago. The current grieving scenes hit very close to home.
Not sure about Kate, but Randall came home after the seeing the Titanic with his gf and talked with Jack in the kitchen before going to bed.
Same. I lost my dad to cardiac arrest. All the talk of losing someone suddenly really gets to me. I totally understand how these people are still grieving 20 years later. I didn't get it before.
This. Show. Is. Killing. Me. Middle Kate is a really good actress. Gonna miss this the next couple weeks but happy I get a break from all the crying.
Holy shit this last episode wrecked me. Probably my favorite episode of the show. And that surprise twist at the end...
I liked how they drew parallels between everyone's lives throughout the ep. Nice to get all the backstory for Deja. Season finale next week!
i just started this last week and am only five episodes in but i love it to pieces. it's easy to expect little from a network drama but gf swore i'd love this and i do. only pain is i only get to watch like two or three a week at our current routine
Anyone feel like speculating on the cliffhangers from the season finale? I really want to, but I also don't want to ruin anything for people just starting! To all catching up, it's on Hulu right now! Hurry up!!!!! (jk haha).
we just got through the Christmas ep of season one last night. this show is too good. i am not a huge Toby fan but it still hit really hard.
his being pushy for sex and his literally saying "i need to be more important than your brother" what felt like weeks into the relationship were bad bad looks imo
I suppose that would happen in a binge watch. Interesting/valid. It felt organic/properly timed watching over the course of a season.
He's had some issues trying to adjust to being part of the Pearson family, but I like Toby. Dude is hilarious and the sweetest.
