The whole accidental shrooms trip was handled so well.. Especially for a show on network television. This show is nonstop with its drama but somehow manages to stay out of the corny lane (most of the time)
For a show that plays up the whole "tv's best tearjerker!" thing, it earns the great majority of its drama and feelingsy moments. I feel like it respects the viewer more than your average network hit.
I think the moments that wrecked me the most were The mailman talking about William and the dream Randall had of his two fathers talking
Just started watching this a few days ago. Surprisingly, I absolutely love it. I'm only on episode 5 but catching up quickly
Obviously with a network show that requires 18 or so new episodes per season there are definitely going to be quote "filler" episodes or whatever, but I have to say that even the episodes in this show that can be classified as that still have great moments. Like this week's had some great moments. Toby and Rebecca and Kevin and Beth were my two favorites.
Kevin is straight up bumming me out this season. I really liked where his arc was headed. Also this episode reminds me that I also miss William very dearly.
I think something is still going to happen with him this season, idk what, but I definitely don't see his story ending on such a low note. Who knows, though?
“I’m a plastic surgeon.” “Butts or boobs?” “Burn victims, actually.” That may have been my hardest laugh this year. So unexpected.
I have zero sympathy for Kevin. This episode was super annoying to watch. I get that he never dealt with his dad dying but it’s not believable to me that that’s all it takes to get him to spiral like this, especially when Randall has been through so much more and what Kate’s going though. Plus he’s had everything handed to him and he still treats everyone like shit. Idk if I’m missing something but his storyline is annoying.
After this last episode I think you were. And this is coming from someone who's been harsher on this show than most. I think they did a great job showing what led to his issues while also acknowledging that he's partially to blame.
Shit got real in the Pearson family this week. Though to be honest I really enjoyed hearing Beth, Toby and Miguel talking at the bar. It's a cool side of the story to explore and I think they're gonna do more of that this upcoming season.
That post was about the episode where Kevin has his meltdown after the Alumni thing and goes to Randall's house at the end. The last line was Randall saying Kate lost the baby.
