Yeah I thought they were great last night. Not quite as good as two years ago in my opinion but much better than red rocks The venue was way more packed than last time too and he said the whole tour has been bigger. Any particular idea why? My guesses are it’s further from covid, kids of 90s kids and general increase in nostalgia. It felt more significant than that though
Next Sunday they play in Birmingham. Chevelle also plays same city, same night. Absolutely torn on which show to see. Saw TEB in 2015 after Dopamine came at a club show. Saw Yellowcard last year at an ampetheater. Haven't seen Chevelle since 2007. Never been to the venue TEB is playing out (Oak Mountain Ampetheater). Chevelle is playing at my favorite venue (Avondale Brewing). I saw Yellowcard's setlist and damn its good. Haven't seen over half of those songs live. I'm on (stay)vacation all the way through then so I'll listen to a lot of all of them and make a late breaking decision.
I mean, if you're asking for advise, it's pretty clear haha. I wouldn't pick Chevelle over uhhh any band?
More like thinking out loud. I'm leaning the way everyone in this thread would force me to go for sure. But I love Chevelle.
Buy day-of tickets to both shows so that it's super cheap. Then, have someone order you an uber to one of the venues (without you knowing), and it'll be a surprise for you. Also, are the venues close enough to go between? Try to catch Yellowcard and a half set of TEB, and then scurry over to Chevelle? Lastly, just go see TEB
I'm not the person who posted this conundrum, but sadly the venues are a solid half hour apart, especially if you had to deal with parking at the amphitheater. I haven't been back there in 10+ years, but I remember thinking most of the seating at the amphitheater felt really far away from the stage and not being impressed by the sound quality. The real bummer here is that both are outdoor venues and it's prime scattered thunderstorm season
Chevelle is a dope band for what they do. Bet they are great live. after seeing 3EB suck complete ass the last two-3 times I’d seen them, they were great this tour. Super surprised and happy. In general, Arizona, YC and 3EB were great and the merch was great too.
I have only ever seen 3EB on the S/T 20 year tour (and tbh it’s probably the only time I will ever need to see them lol) but they were fucking great.
I saw them at an acoustic festival a long time ago, then the 20 year anniversary tour, and then the current tour.
Saw them in 2007 when they were working on some Ursa Major songs, then last year at Ohio State Fair, and then this years tour. this was the best, though all of them were great.
