Yeah I love that cover. I do not love the two newest singles after Screamer, however. I fear this will be a wack effort.
Kids is good, the other 2 tracks didn't impress me. I miss the old SJ, he had such a unique catchy cadence when he sang - recent material, he just seems lazier to me in terms of melody
They completely massacred “I Got So High”. I remember hearing that live back in 2013 and it was so so so much better. Why. Really not digging this record on first listen. Sounds like a batch of B-Sides from Dopamine. Let down of the year for me so far.
This came on randomly and it still blows my mind how it sounds like the best 3EB song not written by 3EB - the lyrics, the guitar lines, the exuberance, everything about it is 3EB and they’re known fans so it makes sense
Sitting here legit ugly crying to the acoustic version of "Who Am I?" - perfect for the fall weather! I really appreciate them including the two versions of the song on the album, they're really lovely reflections of the same tune and I wish more bands did it. "Turn Me On" is my other MVP of the album.
I think my only suggestion would’ve been for them to cut the full band who am I, add one more upbeat song, keep the acoustic version of who am I. That’s really my only complaint. I think the acoustic version is actually great. The lyrics/vocals and acoustic accompaniment are all you need. It should serve as “exiles” or “all these things” for this record
Yeah, i'm like the other guy in the thread who said they didn't mind it as a one-off, but I prolly won't return to it much at all, haha.
