I saw him like 2 years ago before Dopamine was released, and he said almost the same thing word for word at this show as he did then "We were supposed to have a record done for this tour but...we fucked up" Sounded like Summer Gods will be done at the end of the summer though.
Missed my show last night because of Fathers Day. Thinking of road tripping to Philly for the upcoming Sunday show.
I saw them about a year before Ursa Major was released. They played a bunch off of it but he didn't even bother talking about it haha
Side note: It's kind of ridiculous that all of these outlets keep snubbing Brad when saying Stephan is the only founding member left, like people were all listening to Third Eye Blind in 1993. He's been a driving force with Stephan from the second Third Eye Blind became relevant.
The multiple sources were interviews a few months back. The interviewer/website/whoever could've been mistaken but they did use the words "sixth studio album". Don't feel like linking it cause honestly don't remember where I read it.
But Brad isn't a founding member. They had four drummers before him. He didn't even play on every song on S/T. That's just a fact.
It's awesome that the band is touring much more than they have in the past. The past few times I saw them (prior to the most recent tour) they weren't quite as tight as I would've anticipated. Hopefully all these shows night after night have been good for TEB.
It's also a fact that he has been in the band since 1995. You're really arguing semantics at this point. The articles refer to him as the "only founding member" making it seem like he was the only member from the S/T era. The way they phrase is absolutely discounts Brad's role in the band, and his history in the band. No one cares that there were drummers before anyone knew who they were. Brad has been in the band from the second that record came out. He was involved in the making of the record. The writers are busy using Wikipedia to find their information about the history of Third Eye Blind. Him not playing drums on 4 tracks doesn't discount him being a permanent member of Third Eye Blind through their entirety of 20 years since S/T.
Brad is pretty much the founding drummer. When you consider that it's Stephan's project, it would make sense that he went through a few drummers before finding a good fit with Brad. I think the biggest shame is splitting off from some of the other members that really had active roles in self titled through Vein.
