I'm about to start my 2nd listen and was super disappointed in the 1st. Hoping it's a grower, as Dopamine was.
OK, I liked it better on 2nd listen - but I sure wish there was more guitars and less Skrillex beats on this thing. Also, what's up with the swearing on every song? Really a bad look for SJ in my opinion - better to act your age
Yeah I feel like that’s the sorta word play he’s always done, haha. Sometimes more clever than others.
Same here. I genuinely disliked that song before the album was released, and now I kind of like it. It fits in well.
I think he dropped more f bombs on this album than all the other five albums and two EPs combined haha
And that's the way it goes Sometimes it's best to get a bloody nose Buck up against your fear And throw them the fuck out of here Throw your body on the gears of the machine Better to get dirty than to be unclean
Third Eye Blind Screamer Interview | hmv.com Lol so I guess Billy Corgan was straight up just not around, more in Stephan's head
lol SJ must really idolize him, I remember years ago when he was wearing that black sith lord robe on stage, he said it was because of Billy Corgan
This has grown on me so much already. Completely in love with the first eight songs. "Light it Up" isn't on the same level, but it's pretty good (love the last minute or so). "2x Tigers" isn't very good but I also don't hate it as much as some seem to. And then "Take a Side" is a fitting closer, not (even close to) my favorite closer of theirs but it's nice. Idk, there's just something about this band that scratches an itch only they can, for me. It's not an itch I have all the time, maybe 3-4 times a year, but when I start listening to 3EB I don't listen to much else for the next 2-3 weeks or so. Can't really explain it, but this album fits in great with the rest of their discography and I'm glad they are still making music.
Saw the boys in London last night. Killer show. Although they didn’t play anything from Dopamine, which was a little disappointing. The new songs sound great live, especially “Ways.”
This album has honestly grown on me a ton. Ways is definitely my favorite overall, but Got So High is crazy, Light It Up, the Kids, Walk Like Kids, Screamer all great, and the rest are all solid aside from 2x Tigers being bizarre. Even having 2 versions of Who Am I kinda works
