Ok I caved and bought the groupon tickets. I had a coupon code too so it came to $21 per ticket. Not bad! If anyone's looking to buy today, use the code TAKE60. It's 60% off....only bummer is that only applies to one ticket.
I don't have specific details on this, but i presume it works similarly to the way any contract with local promoters/sponsors work. Before tickets ever even go on sale, a specific block is allocated to Groupon to sell at whatever discounted rate they negotiate and deem appropriate. I assume they get a package rate for buying a large quantity. This helps the venue move a large number of tickets quickly and assures they're getting paid upfront for those seats well in advance for the show. With local promoters, they're usually just handed a stack of hard tickets. With a larger company like Groupon, I presume they're set up with some sort of backend e-ticket access that allows them to pull their seats from the primary as necessary and deliver them in e/mobile form. I assume you receive a standard Ticketmaster/Live Nation ticket, but Groupon has been doing this for a while and may have their own primary system in place, depending on the venue.
So it looks like the groupon tickets are mobile tickets that can only be opened in their app. So if it turns out I can no longer go, is there a way to send the tickets to another person?
You can screenshot them and send them the picture. I did that when I bought a 30 Seconds to Mars ticket last summer and gave it to a friend.
I looked and didn't see anything myself, but someone had mentioned to me that Live Nation was offering a 2 for 1 for this show? Anyone else hear or see that?
I'm sitting right next to the guy who built the ticketing for the Denver show. Neither of us have heard anything about a 2 for 1 in Denver. Not sure about the rest of the tour though.
Got emailed the set times for tonight. Don't know if this applies to every date but here it is Ra Ra Riot 7:00 Jimmy Eat World 7:45 Third Eye Blind 9:15
I know that at least doesn't apply to the Denver show. Show starts at 5:30pm since the cerfew is 10:00pm

Third eye blind is playing a few new songs on the tour from their album that is supposed to be out sometime this summer. Stephan mentioned during the soundcheck that the setlist will be changing throughout the tour.
Nah, they did that tour in 2017 where they played the record in full. They just really favor the record in their set.
