Thin Lips – “Gaslight Anthem (The Song Not The Band)”

Well, this got me really excited and really disappointed very quickly.

I wonder if TGA regret their name at all now that the term "gaslight" has taken on a widespread negative connotation in verb form

 

They picked their name for a good reason and I like it.

 

That definition came long before the band. I'm pretty sure they knew what they were doing.

 

It comes from The Gaslight Cafe in New York, a very famous venue where some of the greatest artists of all time would play.

 

I feel like it was a setting for a scene in Inside Lleywn Davis or something like that. I think it’s a nice tribute to artists they admire like Dylan who played the venue.

I kinda find this song title a little strange, as in to get clicks for plays because of the band name. Could be wrong though. It’s not a big deal. Either way and I will never give this band a listen because they are not for me.
