That's twice in a row I've entered this thread playing the song your most recent post references. lol
Just checked the sputnik thread for this because that's where I first found the band, and the site has directed me to some of my other favourites (which i'm grateful for). It looks like Summer Moon has largely had the same level of reception there as it has here but jesus that site has become so fucking odd, and has the same contrarian weirdos in every single review thread.
Definitely feels like people are in competition to appear “cool” or “unique” in their tastes, and way more millennial in their discussion about it, which I don’t really get from here.
Dream Song is the closest anyone has gotten to scratching the BN itch i've had since they got outed as assholes.
Yeah it was just a very specific sound that I’ve missed. I don’t miss the band, and they can rot in hell, but nice to have something close to it that scratches that itch, and is super good.
When a band or album comes out of nowhere and blows you away at the end of the year...yep, this is that album. Never heard of this band before but was recommended to check it out and yeah I love this so much.
If anybody is new to this band, and really liking what they hear (of course!), I can heartily recommend a little band called Friends in America, who also released a beautiful record in 2013 and have been more or less MIA ever since; Aside from a couple of loose singles, this is pretty much it for this band, but I think they pair very well with There Will Be Fireworks, and can easily see people enjoying their music too. I think this little album is is basically perfect. I've been banging on about this record for about a decade, would love a surprise follow up, just like TWBF.
Trying to find this but there’s like 50 bands named Dweller lol. Can you post which one you’re recommending? Thanks! :)
I got sent a second copy of this on vinyl and cba sending it back, any interest? I'll ship anywhere :)
I can’t get over how good this record is. I’m not sure what I expected a decade later, even with the great singles released in advance, but this far exceeded my expectations. It’s all I’ve been listening to since release, and feels like this will be an all-timer for me.
