Listened through once and this is everything I’ve wanted in an album this year. Nothing has stuck with me at all so far but this is something else.
I really love the progression of their sound on here and lyrically it hits in all the right places for this time in my life.
I'm missing the listening party as I'm quite fittingly actually going to a firework display tonight, so am about to listen to the album for the first time on a big lunch time autumn walk and try and embrace all the feelings
Although I would have liked at least one or two heavier/more aggressive moments on here because I absolutely love that stuff, I still think this was probably my favourite first listen I've had all year. Some amazing writing on here.
I’m like 4 songs in an already on the verge of tears stunning work already can’t believe they’re nailing it
Feels like people who love the new Gaslight album should be directed towards this record our lady of sorrows is so awesome and in that Gaslight, Gang of Youths space
I know they're on Bandcamp but it doesn't support gapless playback lol, probably not the best for an album like this? I think that's how that works at least
Sometimes you get that feeling of just being overcome with emotion when listening to songs when you hear something really special. Had it last week during Michigan, 1975 on the new Gaslight record, and it's happened again on the opener to this. What a stunning album, music really is the best innit
Hello it is me, a Gaslight, Gang of Youths, and Frightened Rabbit fan who has not heard these guys before!
There's no technical, educated, or smart way I can describe it, but this band has a sound which reminds me of something I can't place but it is perfectly hitting me. Like it has this whimsical and nostalgic sound which makes me feel like its early 2000's and I'm listening to a North Star album or my mom is driving me around listening to like Snow Patrol, and for the first time in forever I'm revisiting those albums and it's just bringing me to that place & time. This is not a direct comparison at all to those bands obviously, but it is the only way in my head I can make sense of how I am deeply enjoying my first time listening to this band.
