I'll post here what I posted in the press release thread. I'm a huge World Is...fan but this song does very little for me. The vocals are very subdued. The synth is *very* high up in the mix imo. The lyrics are pretty whateve. The song has no "vibe" or atmosphere for me, which is something most World Is songs excel at usually imo. It feels like it's trying to be this energetic song but something doesnt translate for me. It feels a little like they're on auto-pilot(I know it's silly to make that judgement off of one song, but that's all we have for now). I feel like they could've wrote this song in a few hrs....and that wouldnt surprise me. The album artwork's not bad. Though it doesnt really seem like a World Is... album cover at all though. Manchester Orchestra's new album artwork(and their singles artwork) is more World Is... than this is heh. Regardless, excited for a new album!
Ahhhh, whys all this gotta drop when I'm at work?? Is there just the one colorway available for LP rn? I might order it in the last 10min of my lunch
Do all the preorders come with the lyric book or do I have to get that separately? Song is sick btw, rhythm section reminds me of mwY. Album cover DEFINITELY has to be in homage to Modest Mouse's first album, right?
New song kind of goes nowhere. It's not bad, but it just happens. Though I've liked an average of 2 songs per release since Formlessness so fuck if I know
Feel like a lot of people were hoping for some dated post rock parts or something, don't get this reaction at all
seriously, i feel this direction was very expected too with the current makeup of the band and how it's been heading
Yea I couldn't see them staying in a Harmlessness sound. I predicted a more metallic kind of sound for this album.
