She and Katie got divorced. I'm guessing it was only natural that one of them would end up out of the band.
David Bello - Vocals Josh Cyr - Bass Steven Buttery - Drums Chris Teti - Guitar, Trumpet Dylan Balliett - Guitar, Vocals Katie Dvorak - Keyboards, vocals Tyler Bussey - Guitar, vocals just the 7 piece, 3 guitars now. just different because nicole was always the one who talked between songs and sort of guided the band, so i'm just curious how different the vibe is assuming some slight setlist changes too as well
:( sad I only got to hear once the introduction of "all your old gods are dead, we are the world is a beautiful... Blah blah blah."
Philly band The World is a Beautiful Place keeps it together Weird seeing my local newspaper post an intriguing article about the band
They were great tonight, but I was hoping they'd play longer. Here's the set list: Walnut Street is Dead Eyjafjallajokull Dance January 10, 2014 Heartbeat in the Brain Gig Life The Word Lisa Haircuts for Everybody Willie (for Howard) I Can Be Afraid of Anything Mount Hum Encore: Smoke & Felt [\spoiler]
There's a lot of songs that I'm surprised were not on the setlist. We Need More Skulls, Ra Patera Dance/Rage Against the Dying of the Light are probably most surprising. No katamari duqette either. Probably haven't figured out a new way to play those songs yet though. Or something.
I'm sure the principal songwriter/lyricist of the song probably makes a difference as well Was thinking this morning, means I'll probably never see the opener live :(
They've played all those songs pretty consistently. Surprised they weren't on setlist, as well. Pretty disappointing and very short set
That seems like at least a 45 minute set. Apparently on Thursday they played for an hour. I'm expecting an hour tonight based on how we only have two locals. That set also has a bunch of songs I've never seen them play which is great
Just put all the songs into a playlist, guess it was actually about an hour long, just felt short. I haven't seen them since they put out W,IE so I wanted some of the New Years/Happy Birthday songs, but it was cool to hear the last 4 songs off of Harmlessness in succession.
i think chest & shirt is my favorite by them. that was the previous singer though, right? bummed they'll probably never do it live.
Yeah, I'm glad I got to see them play all those songs at least. Wonder if Getting Sodas makes a return (probably not). Also yeah having a different vocalist has not stopped them from doing songs Dave didn't sing on originally anyway, so it'd still be possible either way
couldn't make it to the BK show, super sad but you can't do everything, right? do you guys feel the band has changed in anyway since D left? I sure will miss her and wonder if she'll do other music endeavors
