Maybe of this decade. I never realized I wanted a TWIABP pop punk album, but now I totally do. Or at least an EP.
the pop punky moments of the last album were amongst my favorites. End of January, the word Lisa, the end of ra patera dance, etc
who's going to the philly release show w me next week i am 50/50 going especially since i have no place to crash yet
4 tracks in, really not feeling this. I like everything this band has ever put out before this though(with "Whenever, If Ever" being the magnum opus for me).
Instrumentally I liked it, but vocals I did not though(whoever's singing that track isnt David). I'm 10 tracks in now and thus far "I'll Make Everything", "For Robin", "Marine Tigers" are the only ones I'm feeling entirely. "Dillon"'s alright but it doesn't do anything their other songs haven't done better already. I feel like they shed most of their post-rock, atmospheric, vibey, stuff.....which really sucks. That's what drew me to this band to begin with.
I'm almost finished the album and yeah I miss the atmospheric post rock side of their sound, but it's still around on this and it's still a good album so far even though there's less of that stuff on here.
It's barely present on here, compared to previous albums. Kind of bumming me out actually. There's so much more they could do with that sound...for them to abandon it. I hope that Nicole wasn't the only source of that influence and style.
