I tried, turns out shazaaming a phone recording of a vinyl playing doesn't allow you to do it. Surprise, surprise.
I'm already exhausted by how divisive this band/album will be, and we literally know nothing about it.
You say that as if "shouty" or "whiny" are the only options...there is a MASSIVE space on the vocal spectrum between those two extremities, and all the band would need to do to win (for me) is reign in the melodrama a little bit to get those vocals somewhere closer to what I would call "natural".
but they do that. did you listen to the song? yall are the ones acting like theres no in between when there definitely is. idk how to even quantify what is or isnt melodrama but i dont hear that in this song or in most of their songs. Dan sounds extremely natural, he literally doesnt have any effects or anything on his vocals in the studio to make them sound as natural as possible.
I think he's better here than he is on most of their songs. His yelling never bothered me anyway but the whiny singing thing does which is why I can't stomach Aaron west. But I think he's fine on this song
The only definition of Melodrama anyone needs to know is that it is the sophomore release by New Zealand pop star Lorde.
I feel really intelligent because, despite being in a position where I utilize mostly non-math skills, I knew right away that the equation on the 7” was the distance between two points. PLEASE NO ONE KNOCK ME OFF THIS PEDESTAL.
As an engineering major in my last semester (did you see what I did there?!?!?!?!) of college, pretty cool to see the distance formula there.
I taught that formula to my ACT students last week and immediately recognized it solely because of that lol
It’d b even tighter if it was The Reynolds number used to calculate my turbulent sad ass throwing myself through a screen door.
I mean, I just think it's funny that people are whining about someone allegedly sounding whiny. I didn't call out anyone specifically, just funny to me.
So sick of people whining about people whining about Soupy whining, so now I'm whining about it. Whining.
