So what is this band up to these days? Feel like I haven't heard anything from them in a long time.

 

Soupy’s currently touring Aaron West then I think they’re recording the next album.

 

Pretty sure they already recorded the album before this tour

 

Must have missed that one, thought they had just been writing not recording. Good news though!

 

They were in LA for awhile it seemed and played that one off with Rise Against so I'm assuming they recorded during that!

 

We've got such good sleuths around here

 

I would love a Q1 2018 release.

 

I'm gonna assume March-April

how many br00tal breakdowns can we expect on the next LP

 

real talk this is easily my most anticipated album and im so happy the band has taken time to refresh themselves, im sure the extra year has helped im sure theyre exhausted.

i cant wait to see what the....theme of this one is going to be, i guess. like, i dont want to say "hook" or "concept" because i think that downplays the thematic nature of TWYs albums but im curious what this albums "thing" will be, if it will even have one. The Upsides had "im not sad anymore" but also had a consistent theme of transitioning from teenager to adult, Suburbia had the full year timeline with each song representing a certain event within a year while also having the Ginsberg poem as a framework, TGG had the 5 main images of ghosts/bombs/pill bottles/birds/devils but also the whole WWII/1940s pulp style to it, and NCTH has the overall theme of a deceased loved one but its mixed in with political/social turmoil as well as using Patsy Cline and Ernest Hemingway as jumping off points to explore other topics. i dont want to diminish the bands songwriting or creativity or anything down to just a theme but ive always loved that theres more to these albums than just surface level enjoyment.

BREE BREE was a masterpiece of songwriting. cannot wait for this clearly inevitable collaboration to enlighten my ears and/or my soul

I've been saying for months that it's about time for the #CrunkcoreRevival, it's like come on music industry we're ready for this give the people what they want

 

Do we reckon AW20 LP2 or TWY LP5 will be announced first?

(and yes I know technically it's LP6 but the band have disowned Get Stoked on It! and I'm OK doing the same, don't @ me)

Really interested to hear what the lead with on this. I'm wondering if they are going to expand upon the direction they went towards with the last album, or if they are going to try something completely different.

 

I heard the album is a lot darker and has a post hardcore vibe ?????? Don't know how true this is
