The Devil In My Bloodstream- Nearly an impossible matchup. PTSD is the song I would play for people if they wanted to understand what the Wonder Years are like, it is so catchy. Alas, I prefer a little bit of a darker version of the Wonder Years and I enjoy the concept about inheriting negative traits, so I have to go with the Devil in my bloodstream. I Just Want To Sell Out My Funeral- If you enjoy TGG, I don't know how you can pick against this song. Super ambitious, but executed perfectly. I remember the first time I ever listened to the record, my mind was blown over and over again while listening to this track and hearing all the callbacks to the songs on the record.
Passing Through A Screen Door There, There Man, I could see both of these losing... Easily my favourites off the record, damn. No bad songs left mind.
Early Totals: Passing Through A Screen Door - 4 The Devil In My Bloodstream - 6 There, There - 5 I Just Want To Sell Out My Funeral - 5 Super close matchups
I don't think there's any argument these are probably the top four songs on the record, right? Like, I don't think anything that isn't here deserved to be here over any of these.
I actually voted for Cul-de-Sac over There, There in that round haha. There, There is still an amazing song though. I just thought I'd throw some love over to Cul-de-Sac considering I figured it was going to get demolished.
Cul de sac hits me super hard every time. Very strong connection with that song and I just think musically it's one of their best
I'd probably vote for Cul de Sac over Funeral, actually. Funeral doesn't stick out as a great song to me individually because its greatest impact is through all the reprises that really sum up the album as a whole (and I don't love the first 3-4 minutes of the song).
