FBs and ATL are way poppier than TWYs. Basement is a unique case and I'm curious how they are handled with them. I wonder if their U.K.l presence is huge and that's why.
They're still pretty small over here honestly, relative to most of the other bands on FBR- To my knowledge their most recent tour was main support to Bring Me The Horizon on their last UK tour and they're about to do a tour of between 200 and 400 cap rooms. Either way, I'm not sure TWY would get FBR, even if they may be able to.
I talked to Soupy last night at the Aaron West show in NYC and he said there definitely will be another Wonder Years album this year and maybe even another Aaron West album "if I'm feeling creative enough." I didn't know that their contract with Hopeless was up. I don't know where they could go from here.
Epitaph makes the most sense if they don't re-sign with Hopeless. FBR wouldn't be far-fetched, but Epitaph would be more realistic.
Suburbia, The Greatest Generation, and No Closer to Heaven were all two years apart so it's not that surprising that a new album is coming out this year. NCTH came out in fall of 2015
The possibility of a new Aaron West album makes me really, really happy. That first album hit me really hard when it came out and the EP was great too. Not going to complain about new Wonder Years though!
Had the Aaron West record on in the car for the last week now. Man, what a fucking record. Really hits hard at points. Really excited at the possibility of another.
A not so hot take - Going To Georgia may be one of the absolute best songs Soupy has been involved in. Not even necessarily for the 2 and a half minutes of the song, but for the raw emotional payoff it gives to the rest of the record. Hits me every damn time.
Recently rinsed it actually, great record. HEY HOLY GHOOOOOOOOOOOST WHY'D YOU LEAVE ME WHERE'D YOU GO, RIGHT WHEN I FUCKING NEED YOU I'M ALL ALOOOOOOOONE
Okay, I look an idiot now. Had no idea it was a cover. Seems to fit so well in the context of the record..
This. The Sunset Tree and Tallahassee are both phenomenal albums. Everything from TMG is great but those two are really special.
Definitely glad to get 100% confirmation from Soupy that the album is coming out this year. They've released an album every two years like clockwork since Get Stoked On It!! came out in 2007, so I would have been surprised if they missed this year. We're definitely looking at another fall release, probably in mid-to-late September if I had to guess. So curious about what this is going to sound like. As for labels, if they don't re-sign with Hopeless I agree that Epitaph is probably the best fit.
They could do their own thing and try to incorporate Wax Bodega into the mix as well which would be cool
I don't think anyone has said the record is coming out this year. We've only just started writing it. We took December off, practiced a bit in January, and then went to Europe for a month. Give us like a couple minutes, pls.
Sorry, I was referring to a previous post where someone said they had spoken to Dan at an Aaron West show and ran with it. Not implying I want to rush you! Seriously respect the hell out of your work ethic over the last 10 years, if you guys didn't make this year it'd be totally understandable.
