Once you are in your library (I find it best to sort by “song”), go down to the files. Then, right click and “Show in Windows Explorer” just to get to the folder it is stored in. Keep iTunes / Apple Music up during all of this. Delete all the files from the folder but do not delete the folder itself. Empty your recycling bin. Go back to iTunes and attempt to play the file. It will give an error as ask to find. Hit cancel. Hover over the other files just to make sure iTunes can’t find them as well and Windows isn’t trying to fix the problem for you. Take the new files from whatever folder they are in, and drop them in the “old” folder. Switch back to iTunes and click song one. It will again ask to find, but this time, manually select the new file you just dropped in. (For safety’s sake, don’t allow Windows to use the same method to find the other files missing) Rinse and repeat for the rest of the album. Maybe try it with something you aren’t too attached to first, just to practice? But, if done correctly, the date added, play count, and spot in any playlist should still be the same.
Patsy Cline literally feels like a different song. It was the ONE Wonder Years song I never liked because that chorus fell sooooooo flat for me. Blew me away this time around, though.
I always loved NCTH in spite of all its flaws. Excited to get to love it all again in its proper glory.
haven't had a chance to spin but I'm so happy they did Slow Dancing too, justice for that absolute ripper
Honestly, I dropped off with them after greatest generation because i felt that the production was so bad i couldn't really capture the same feeling i got from TGG. Really excited to give this one a deeper listen. I know a lot of people have it as their #1, so hyped to approach this again after hearing all love for this remaster!
Oh my god. This is possibly the best remaster I’ve ever heard that isn’t just an entirely new recording.
Wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a new artwork for the vinyl. All their other anniversary releases did.
a pic of it leaked a few days ago. it's like a slip cover w interchangeable art cards. it's all the drawings and pictures from the lyric book
I'm completely with you, although the latest album pulled me back in. I've never liked this one but I'll give it another chance now
Will give the newest one a go 'round. I just put the remaster on and it's worlds better. I also listened to this one way more than i thought i did back then. TGG has a really special place in my heart. Excited to see them at warped next month for the first time!
They need to go the Get Stoked On It route and bury the original 2015 version. This remix is such an incredible upgrade.
I'm notoriously bad at noticing differences with these sorts of things, but it was immediately noticeable even for me as soon as Cardinals. It feels like there's so much room between the instruments now and there's so many little details I've never noticed/heard before. I can actually understand the lyrics in the bridge of Patsy Cline! This is flat out amazing.
Also, I'm extremely happy with what we got, but part of me was hoping they'd add the Justin Pierre version of Patsy Cline with this. I wish that 7" was streaming at all really.
To add a little bit of context that others haven't mentioned, to my knowledge they've actually never acknowledged the SC mix/master issues (I suspect it's mastering) - beyond a post I actually made when the album came out. I posted in the SC forum here, I'm sure I could find it with enough looking, that I didn't like how SC sounded. Nick Steinborn responded saying he was bummed I felt that way, that they all liked how it sounds. I felt pretty awkward (I love SC!). That being said, I still feel that way, pleeeease remaster SC too! This NCTH remix/master sounds truly amazing, I just want SC to get the same treatment.
