I mean there’s some good stuff for sure, opener rules, but there’s a lot of really bland pop punk that I thought they aged out of with no closer to heaven at least
It's tied with TGG for me some days. Sometimes not, but a band like that should feel lucky to have one masterpiece in them and one that comes close nearly a decade later.
I feel Sister Cities has much lower replayability than Hum for me, just because it's so sad and dense and I don't always want that from The Wonder Years (although they are so good at it).
I still think Hum is their weakest post-GSOI record and that's after many, many tries to get into after seeing y'all's love for it. Songs About Death and Cardinals II are actually insta-skips for me which is something I can't say I have much of an issue with in the rest of the catalog
Cardinals II is a perfect song. On first listen the reuse of the Cardinals riff floored me and then the bridge was one of the most euphoric music listening moments of my life. The crescendo is unbelievable. It's heavy and catchy, a showcase of everything that makes the band great imo.
Listened to the new song this morning and it sounded great. Then I turned on Sister Cities for the first time in a while, and my god that mix is straight ass. I love those songs but somebody needs to clean that up.
this TWY era like being stabbed to death for someone with daddy issues lmao. Love it though - lucky kids
I just tried to order burst & decay III off their merch store. First it was listed for 24.99, then when I added it to the cart it changed to 26.99, then when I tried checking out it said that it was sold out and now it looks to be removed from their site. I’m sure it’s just a glitch. (I hope it’s just a glitch)
I would pay this band so much cold hard cash for this. Hell, I would help FUND a significant amount of a remix/remaster of this album if that's what it took. I totally respect creative vision and if they don't want to, fair enough, but I just have a real hard time listening to it despite my love for the songs.
They should do what TGA did and remix it. Hey we know the sound sucks on your phones, here's a better version!
I’d love a NCTH and Sister Cities remix/remaster. NCTH has some of the best songs that I’d love to see made even better!
Especially NCTH. I can hear the vision they had on A Song for Patsy Cline, but it’s just not there in the final mix.
I don’t have a problem with the mix on Sister Cities. I don’t even think I’ve ever made it all the way through NCTH. It’s unlistenable for me.
