Yes! And that symbol thing is starting to seem like it's not a watermark, but is part of the cover, which is a mystifying choice.
It's definitely a watermark. Official album art is up on Tidal: https://tidal.com/browse/track/231999160
Got really excited till I saw it's out so late, oh well. I'll wait and with no more singles for me. The documentary might be cool of course and it was fun to see Mark too.
I dont particularly like the chorus, but I think my son is around the same age as Dan's so it still made me cry.
Production is good. Another song that feels like they’re moving backwards though. Song is fine but continues to just not be interesting to me after Sister Cities
It's ok, don't really like that hemiola thing they do in the chorus. Summer Clothes is def my favorite of the singles so far
I've never heard the term hemiola before so I looked at a couple of youtube videos and I just do not understand music
The Wonder Years – “Passing Through a Screen Door” (Song Premiere) We were able to track down the text in this interview, so I've added it back to the database.
“It touches on the idea of societal pressure dictating the way you should live your life. The wife, the kids, the house. I know that those are all things I want, but I don’t know when. And to be honest, I’m terrified of them. There’s so much that can go wrong. When you think about it, there’s so much responsibility. I don’t want to fuck up a kid’s life. Am I balanced enough, stable enough to help guide someone else through the world? Those are big ideas, they’re terrifying. I’m constantly running away from that.” Such a great quote from a decade ago now seeing what the new album lyrically will be mostly about.
The new singles give me a TGG vibe more than the previous two albums so I think this slight return to form combined with the surge of popularity in this genre again gives them the perfect route to target a slightly younger audience (one that is more socially conscious than the MGK type crowd). I honestly think they could have their highest chart numbers so far and that article is a great push.
