Most are on Twitter - the individual venue accounts. Just search "The Wonder Years" on Twitter and you'll find a ton of them from throughout this morning.
ugh, i know their sets are always short but they played just 13 songs at their first two shows in Latin America. that's under an hour. i'm gonna be so pissed if we don't get more than that.
i think the norm for them is 15-16 songs, which is still kinda short,, but 13 is just lazy. it's not even a co-headliner or anything, it's just them and the local opening band that no one cares about. we'll probably never get a show again so maybe be considerate?
show was really cool. had an awesome convo with Nick where we talked shit on The Dangerous Summer, then i got him and Matt to sign my TGG copy so that was cool too. "Cigarettes & Saints" was really powerful. guy beside me looked like he went just for it, as he cried throughout the whole song and didn't seem to know anything else. there were maybe 80 people there so i felt bad, but they deserve it for playing just 13 songs!!
Wow you talked shit on TDS!? So Cool. Also, The Wonder Years will never even sniff the greatness that TDS executed on RFTS and War Paint.
No, there's just literally a million different things that one could discuss with someone else in a band and I think it's dumb that he or she chose to spend their time talking shit on another band, and then bragged about it on a forum. It's silly. The only reason that band sputtered and faded was because of one person and one person only. Generally talking shit about the band is stupid, when everyone else involved in that project was / is a good person. And on top of that, the person in the band should know better - i.e. be more professional. Anyway, my previous statement remains true, TWY will never even create something half as brilliant as one of TDS's first two LPs.
Maybe I came off more upset than I actually was, but anyway, that band does mean a hulleva lot to me.
wow. it had nothing to do with their music and we discussed several other things, mainly the band's relationship with Hopeless and the unsatisfactory production on NCTH, but that was just what i recall best. if it'll calm you down i'll let you know it was mainly about Cody (who is not a good person).
fair enough. sorry if i came off hostile myself. RFTS and WP are high high high watermarks for the pop punk scene and i dont think TWY have made anything as good as either of those albums. Im also a huge fan of GR but i know many arent
I've had this for years, can anyone tell me where exactly it came from? I think it from the upsides pre-order in 2009 for the rarest variant (blue), but I might be wrong. Anyone?
it was a fun experiment the band did, i believe on their tour in europe off the WBTF/GSOI material, where they all wrote a certain type of poem (i cant remember which) to describe their day. It was a little before The Upsides came out, I think it came with a 7" bundle or something.
I am almost certain this came with the upsides pre-order of the rarest variant (blue /200) that also came with a shirt with firefly's on it.
Whoa, didn't expect to hear this from you. I thought we just argued about this several weeks ago haha.
oh i love TDS a lot. Its tough for me, but honestly nothing TWY have done can come close to RFTS or WP after all is said and done. that said i still adore this band
So much for not making an account here. You're real good at making me look like a jerk, Felipe. We didn't discuss their music. TDS was a very talented band. I believe I said that Cody's personality was a bit much and that they seemed to have internal issues outside of just Cody being Cody that ended in their breaking up. I criticized them overworking their single crew member on Warped, but they can also make their crew do whatever they want.
Thank you for this clarification, I was skeptical that someone in as popular of a band / in the limelight as TWY would do something like that. Also, I can't argue with anything you've stated. Lastly, I want to say that since you're here, it wasn't as much of a disparaging comment towards TWY (I enjoy the discography) -- as much as it was that The Dangerous Summer have put out two of my all time favorite records, and I doubt that I'll ever feel that way about another two albums in general.
