Officially going to this tonight and I’m so stoked. Haven’t seen TWY in a long time and looking forward to finally seeing all the openers live.
I went last night. Never got into Tigers Jaws albums but they played a tight set last night. Definitely good enough to make me revisit their catalogue and see if I was missing something
They were so good in Berkeley tonight. I hadn’t looked st the set list cause I wanted to be surprised, and I was so happy to hear I Was Scare, and I’m Sorry. Soupy is at the top of his game being a frontman and the new songs played really well.
This one and fall 2016 (minus Moose Blood because fuck that band) have been my favorites. Also when they toured with MoBo and Citizen a while back was pretty cool but I was like 13 so I wasn't going to shows.
bands that aren't pop punk dudes the last two tours have finally shown them moving outside of that bubble. TWY/TWIABP/kississippi tour needs to be the next
Hop Along, Speedy Ortiz, Nervous Dater, Kississippi, and Cayetana would all be really cool non-all male options. All Get Out and Spanish Love Songs would be rad too. There’s not really anyone from the pop punk scene that I’d be particularly excited to see them take out anymore, unless it’s a Fireworks/PBC reunion or something.
seeing nervous dater/mannequin pussy open for TWY at the tiny philly show was a blast i think kissi is an opener that is inevitable
I’ve tried getting into Spanish Love Songs so many times but all I hear is a less interesting version of the Menzingers.
i like the album more than the two most recent menz albums. it's similar but it hits some of that special magic that OTIP and the future is cancelled hit
Very excited for this show tonight. I’ve always found Tigers Jaw kind of boring when the main guy is singing but maybe that’ll be different live.
I remember the first two tigers jaw songs I heard were both sung by the keyboardist and I loved them and then I realized she wasn’t the lead singer and was bummed.
One of my favorite parts about Tigers Jaw as a live band is Briana’s keys/piano parts are mixed much louder which accents the songs even more. The new guitarist is a bore when you compare him to Pat Benson, the last guy that was playing with them.
Against me! Featuring The Wonder Years W/ Oso Oso, kississippi, and Boston Manor. Would like to see them jump on shorter tours where they’re the second headliner/special guest. Then to bring in the new year announce a full headliner playing the songs from sister cities they didn’t get to. Just a thought~
