I know it was a Friday night, but I drove from Raleigh for that show and the 10 pm start almost killed my old ass haha
Posters were sold out Friday in SD when I went so if they print more for the rest of the tour and someone can grab me one I’d appreciate it.
Seeing TWY for the first time in 5 years tonight. Feels like it’s been even longer. Stoked to hear a ton of new songs and finally see Hot Mulligan!
It’s also great to see this tour doing so well. This is the first time TWY has sold out the Crystal Ballroom in Portland despite playing there a few times before. The venue is twice the size of the place I saw them five years ago and that show wasn’t even sold out.
Did they not sell it out last February? I remember it being really packed, but I don't remember if it sold out.
Definitely need a new copy. I just have the Chicago album release version that’s on a single LP and it sounds terrible lol
I really want this shirt but it’s sold out in my size. Does anyone know if it’s available anywhere else? The Wonder Years The Hum Goes On Forever T-Shirt | Hot Topic
They just added a ton of merch to the band webstore. Thought I saw this there when I looked last night?
Last night was the most fun I’ve had at a show in a very long time. They sounded absolutely flawless and even the few songs they played that I’m not a big fan of were amazing to hear live. Cardinals into Cardinals 2 was easily the highlight of the set for me.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Cardinals 2, Songs About Death and Sad & Sober, but all sounded insane live. I had only seen TWY once since 2015 so it was nice to hear a ton of stuff off NCTH and the new album.
"You're the Reason I Don't Want the World To End" is such a special song. It hit me harder than ever hearing it live last night. The whole show was great, although I'd have happily traded "Hemingway" and "Heaven's Gate" for two more Hum songs. I don't know if I've ever seen an opening band get a "one more song" chant from as much of the crowd as Hot Mulligan did.
Yeah, I would have flipped for "Green Squirrel" or "Deluxe Capacitor." Definitely didn't mind getting out of there at 9:30 though.
I kind of missed that album when it came out because of everything else going on, but I've been playing it a bunch this month and that's the clear standout for me.
I’m realizing now I haven’t actually been in a pit since I was just out of high school and I’ve never felt older than the recovery period from Thursday lol
