Jealous you were at that considering their next show here is at the 20k arena haha But yeah, History rules. Quickly become my favorite bigger venue in the city
Not Hum related, but I just stumbled upon that Halloween livestream they did during early-ish Covid times. When Dan said at the end to sing along at home and make your neighbors think you're really weird, me and my wife danced around our apartment screaming every lyric to Came Out Swinging with our two dogs. To this day, one of my favorite memories of this band. For just a split second I had hope that maybe eventually shows would come back and that was the closest I felt to live music until our first one back in August '21. So thankful the Wonder Years still exist and I've gotten so many opportunities to see them since live music came back.
Again not Hum related but I just discovered the Punknews review of Get Stoked On It! which is not only hilarious in hindsight but might feature the most devastating one-liner in a review I've ever seen
I haven't heard that album in years! Didn't like it when it came out, though I'd like to revisit it one day and see it through a different lense now hahh, don't know if I should do that
This anyone's official AOTY? Starting to make my list today and this was my jumping off point as my #1
I am not official in any capacity & don't feel like I listen to enough music (especially intentionally) to rank albums but yes
technically it's part of a three-way tie for #1 for me this year but officially I think this goes in at 2 behind Bartees Strange.
I haven't started my list yet, but I'd be surprised if this were anywhere other than in the 1-5 range for me.
I don't have a proper list, but very much the album I've listened to and relate to the most. I'm still umming and ahhing about whether it's my favourite TWY album of all, it's very tight but honestly I think it might well be.
