Bought a last minute ticket to see these tonight. Only saw them at Riot in September but this album absolutely slaps. Super pumped. Also Low Tide rules and no one “gives a shit” that you don’t like one line on an album jfc. It ain’t that deep.
I was telling my therapist about it this week. You want to do something hard? Try telling a professional academic head doctor how much a band’s lyrics mean something to you, then say “hold on, let me just read it” and then reading the bridge and final chorus while snot drips down your face and your vision is 20/400 through your tears because all you can think about are your two kids and how stressed you are about the election and life in America and that no matter WHAT, you gotta keep it together because you’ll do anything to make sure their life is better than yours. God DAMN, what a great song.
Great set last night. Opened with Low Tide and the chorus is a huge moment live. The whole setlist was totally stacked, they are at that point where no matter what they play, there’s always a couple of complete bangers they have to miss out.
Free idea if anyone from the band is reading this thread: For the taped intro at the beginning of the show, play the intro to My Last Semester, then it gets increasingly distorted Cut to Songs About Death, first verse and outro (could even switch halfway into the band playing the outro on live instruments), then band plays Low Tide as usual I had this idea on Tuesday and I'm not letting it go
seated show for me tonight because honestly with a view this good why would I stand? this is Leeds band Beauty School and yes, I'm in the pew
Lost my shit when they played Salinger. What a song. St Lukes! Great looking venue, an old renovated chapel but still has the stained glass windows and organ in its facade.
Finally watched the documentary. As if I couldn’t love this band more. I’m lucky to have grown up with them.
I have listened to this album an absurd amount since release and can say it's easily my favorite Wonder Years record, and it's not close at all. Band is so damn special.
My wife got me a cameo from Dan. I was selected as the Pennsylvania Elementary Principal of the Year so she did as a present for that. It was pretty cool. It’s about 90 seconds long and he talks about when he was a student teacher outside Philly. Only weird thing he kept mentioning that maybe she “randomly picked him” for a Cameo. Maybe it was a joke but he kept bringing it up. Kind of wish they would include a still image or something that I could frame. Maybe a sign that just says Congrats Rob or something. Hard to kind do anything like that with a video.
The etiquette is to install a TV/iPad in your home that plays the cameo on an endless loop for the rest of your life. I believe these rules are outlined on the bottom of your order confirmation.
announced for 2000 Trees in the UK in July. I have it on good authority that's not all they're over there for...
Trees is the best , but I have Springsteen tickets on the Saturday. Hoping they play on the Thursday or Friday so I don't miss out!
