Alright, I’ve been listening to this a lot lately, and holy fuck the closer is so good. I have a 16 month old son and this song just hits so damn hard. I feel like Dan’s lyrics are usually really specific, and they are a bit in this one, but still so relatable.
My son is 3 now but as a toddler he was obsessed with the moon. It's probably not that unusual but for obvious reasons that section of Wyatt's song floored me. Real "dammit Dan you've don't it again" moment.
It's not quite on the same level as what Dan's writing about but I recently moved away from the city where I've spent my entire adult life and Old Friends Like Lost Teeth is basically on permanent rotation in my head right now
Man i love the reprise of "I don't wanna die" on You're the Reason. Perfectly ties the record up with a beautiful bow.
Went to Worcester on Saturday. The show was fantastic, band was the tightest I've heard them, and the crowd went absolutely bananas for all for the Hum songs, which was so damn cool. I kept wishing they'd play more. Also feels like pre-COVID levels of pit contact is back. I'd seen TWY from the barricade a couple times since the return to shows, but this was the first time there was any crush/significant crowd surfing. Palladium security was fantastic, as I've found them to pretty much always be. Not only are they incredibly good at lifting crowd surfers over people in the front's heads rather than scraping them, but they always have several cases of water on hand and offer it regularly.
I've seen TWY 32 times now and this tour has definitely been the tightest they've sounded. I can't wait for the next tour where we get more Hum songs live.
100% Agree. Just had the wife count while I listed off shows from setlist.fm, I'm at 35 lol (Here I was thinking I was somewhere in the 20's). Starting with Hangar 84 in December 2009 and last one was Electric Factory last week. If I'd had a car in college think I could have easily broken 40 by now.
I don’t believe I’ve missed a show of theirs in Oklahoma since 2012 and yet, I’ve only seen them 7 times. Hmm.
Living in Philly for most of the 2010's was definitely cheating, because outside a festival I was already going to like Riot Fest, I've never driven more than an hour to see them. Between the release and holiday shows I was wracking up like 4 shows a year minimum.
This is it for me. They haven’t actually played here since 2016 so really hoping Oklahoma gets a date next year.
I’m almost tempted to create a sheet for all the shows I’ve been to, but I’m sure I can’t even remember some lol
I had a few weeks off between changing jobs summer 2021 and put my list together. Also before I started posting on chorus so much
I have a list in my notes app that I’ve been planning on turning into a spreadsheet for like 6 years now. Someday I’ll get around to it
I started adding more things on Concert Archives during the pandemic break from shows, but my list is nowhere near comprehensive
That’s what I did at first! Then had to go through old venue’s Facebook posts and AltPress articles to find a lot of support acts/dates from like 2012. I saw Title Fight in 2013 and couldn’t find any supporting act info lol
This was before I found out about Concert Archives though so maybe I’ll take another look sometime Edit: this website doesn’t even have the correct state listed so, naw Jan 29, 2013: Title Fight at 89th Street - OKC North Little Rock, Arkansas, United States | Concert Archives
I did the exact same thing when I started my list. It was tough tracking down all the info, especially considering I’ve been going to shows since I was 12, but the hunt was also kind of fun lol I’m kind of meticulous when it comes to lists. I keep lists of everything. Mostly just so I can look back on them someday, but also because I’m a nerd haha
I've spent so many hours looking through old Myspace pages trying to find info about shows I went to in my mid-teens to complete my spreadsheet. There are probably a couple dozen that I'll never find.
