See I like that lyric cause it reminds me of the early days of the pandemic when I grew out my hair cause I just didn’t give a shit
I think most of low tide is pretty corny tbh, and the dishes line in cardinals really takes me out of it
I'd say getting so depressed that you lose the motivation to do every day tasks like dishes and they pile up to the extent of a mountain range is pretty serious.
Yeah idg the complaint. But tbh a lot of complaints about lyrics on this record seem to be down to ppl not being able to think outside their own experiences
I promise you, I and others are capable of thinking outside of our own experiences. You don’t need to treat it as a personal attack when someone critiques a band you like
Continued with my discography run today with Suburbia and this album still holds up well for me, for the most part. I think there’s some fluff on it (Pigeon, Saint, the interludes), but I still found myself really enjoying everything else on here. I think Summers in PA is still an underrated banger and I think And Now I’m Nothing is one of the best songs this band has ever written
Yeah, grew up in Jersey but lived in Philly since finishing college and plan to live the rest of my life here. Best place on earth. The song just feels very much like it was written by someone from the suburbs in a way that’s like. Idk. Not for me
If his name wasn’t Nick I don’t think that line would have been written. I mean I guess it could have been another name that’s a saint but whatever
I love Nick Foles and what he did for this city but boy howdy do I think it’s goofy! I thought the lines about Jerome Brown on We Could Die Like This worked but it just didn’t work for me here
Anyway no order my faves are prob Summer Clothes Laura Lost It in the Lights You’re The Reason Cardinals II
