Fell in love pretty immediately with every pre-release song but imo most of them are on the back half of my favorite songs on the record.
I can not wait to get the record in my hands and spin it for the first time. I ALSO can not wait to hear these songs live, because holy shit they're going to sound huge. especially Paris of Nowhere at a Philly show.
I mean this in the best way possible: I feel like this is the album they've been trying to make since TGG.
Got a digital listen in with good headphones at midnight. Just continuously blown away. Sounds incredible. I kept thinking about what I want to hear live next month and the answer is just all of it. Play the whole damn thing. Really, though, I hope we get a good 7-8 like the early Sister Cities runs.
not me realising after almost two months that the song is called "Lost It in the Lights" not "Lost in the Lights" lol
This is an incredible album. Songs About Death in particular was worth the wait. I do get what Rowan was trying to say about Laura and the Beehive though. Not a bad song, just maybe not the right sequencing
As someone who thinks their best is Suburbia, I found more I like off this than their last couple albums.
About 1/2 through this and I gotta say there's a lightness in these songs that wasn't consistently there over the past few albums. Also the breakdown type thing near the end of Cardinals II was awesome
I like most of this a fair bit. Feels like a bit of a step down from Sister Cities though for me and it's a bit inconsistent. I think the first two and 9/10 are my clear favourites on first listen.
I feel this is gigantic step up from SC and NCTH. This is the album I always felt they should've made after TGG; it's like a perfect blend of TGG, NCTH and SC all in one.
controversial take to follow I really really dislike Wyatt's Song like one of my least liked TWY songs
I think it's easily the best song on here. chorus is definitely the weakest part but it's still mostly good imo.
Listened once through and really liked it. I strongly disagree that this is a regression from SC—I think they sound way more confident here, and I don’t think you get a song like Cardinals II or Songs About Death without the experiments they’re playing with on that album.
