They said on their spotify live room that lost in the lights would be the final single released before the album. Kinda hoping they put out the one next week then that's it until lost in the lights but idk. Half the album will be out if they release one in August too
I actually think Conor went on record saying that this was his decision that he pushed for. not that I don't agree, bad move
That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that. Admittedly, though, I didn’t pay too close attention to this album cycle because the album didn’t move the needle for me
Idk if something is extremely well written it doesn’t matter if you directly relate or not people are still gonna be impacted. I mean I doubt a large number of pianos become teeth fans have had their dad die of MS yet the lack long after and keep you were and continue to be regarded as some of the most hard hitting albums ever lyrically in this scene
personal take: in two years when you’re listening to an album you won’t remember the closer was released as a single so ultimately it doesn’t matter
it definitely doesn't matter and if it actually affects an album for you, you might want to re-examine what you actually love about music or not
There is no "in two years" for all the people you fail to entice with a poor choice in lead single. That rollout was majorly self-limiting
I respect everyone's opinion on it! I think for me personally, whether or not the song is any different because it's the closer (like Bar Bands/Funeral tying their respective albums together) I will never forget listening to every TWY closer for the first time. I'd do anything to hear Funeral for the first time in context of the album or the end of Suburbia when And Now I'm Nothing goes into the instrumental part at the end. Some bands just know how to do an opener/closer and at this point with this band, that experience is something I cherish on first listen.
It’s actually one of the only songs on the album that I remember liking. Still a whack lead single tho lol
I still remember how fucking weird I thought it was that Saves The Day made Undress Me the leadoff single for Daybreak.
Guessing Philly and other festival markets won’t be announced until after those shows. Should be easy to find the gaps in dates though. I’m hoping for Fireworks and/or Camp Trash as openers.
