also, seeing TWY for the first time in a decade tomorrow night - how rowdy are the crowds these days? Should I expect moshing and stage diving and not try to get close if I'm not into that anymore?
The show in Nashville last night was great, aside from it seeming to oddly not be as loud as I would have wanted - which is about the last thing I expected to say. We were standing close-ish, maybe 4 people back, and the low end like the kick just wasn’t hitting like I thought it would. Also would have enjoyed more songs or deep cuts, but I loved it either way. It’s incredible how well Dan’s voice holds up through a mostly-heavy set like the one they have on this tour.
Got the Zingers closing tomorrow at my show, maybe slightly disappointed it's not TWY but I can't complain too much. It'll be my 10th time seeing TWY, rookie numbers compared to the lot of you I know but they'll be my most seen band by a good 5 shows now
just realized I didn't post anything after seeing them on Sunday! I think it was my 9th time seeing them, but first in a year and a half or so Raining In Kyoto got a good reaction from the Tulsa crowd and I think Hemingway might be one of my favorite songs to hear them play live, man it rules
This past show was my 16th, with I think more than doubles up any non-local band. Crazy thing is, only 3 of those times are pre-2018.
Best news possible. Being in South Australia I've only seen them once at a short festival set. Bucket list band to see headline for sure.
It is awesome that he was able to do that, for sure. But it breaks my heart that for what I would consider a pretty successful band, he already felt the walls closing in financially in such a short amount of time. Makes sense, the state of making money with music sucks, but man it breaks my heart to have to imagine members of my favorite band holding on by a thread in any downtime from touring (which I know is also getting less viable). Here's hoping the WWE partnership came with a nice check and some new fans.
Ordered immediately. I’d still love to own an actual copy of Paper Boats too, but even when they do pop up on EBay they go for so much more than I’m willing to pay.
