NCTH was the perfect fall album, IMO.

    I still love Sister Cities.

suburbia is a pretty summer record through and through. that doesnt mean its breezy and light hearted. summer is brutally hot and exhausting.

It’s was like 75 degrees and breezy the other night and I listened to this on my walk. Felt just about right to me

I think this album is good, much better than NCTH at least, but I also don’t find myself listening much

The quality of this on Spotify has made me not come back to it as much as I should.

Agreed unfortunately. Not even really sure why to be honest.

TWY just posted an IG story about how a (very) limited number of the shirts will be available in their web store at 12 pm EST tomorrow (July 19th)!

Haha no worries man! For long enough to process an order? I don't know. Anywhere else I've worked I could, but this place are shit hot about this sort of thing and how long people are in the toilets and that (so couldn't even sneak off on my phone and do it). Going to try anyway cause that shirt is cool as fuck

Wtf that sounds awful! And yes, do it! I believe in you!

You could even set an alarm to make it sound like you're getting a phone call right before 12 if that helps at all (I've faked getting a phone call before lol).

It's shite, but pays the bills at least. Turns out I messed up the timezones anyway, so it should be on sale 5pm here, so exactly when I finish. I'll just load the website up on my PC and stay late to order it haha. Fingers crossed.

  14. I think they updated the mix/master on Spotify, it sounds much better. My CD, mp3s, and vinyl are all barely listenable though. I feel like there are multiple masters of this out there with widely varying quality, it's confusing.

I'm always wondering about this as well. Is anyone else's "Sister Cities" track way louder than anything else? This is the copy of the record I downloaded directly with my book order. Always have to be prepared after It Must Get Lonely.

I think Sister Cities and Pyramids of Salt are both different file types than the rest of the album if I remember correctly. I'm almost positive the download I originally had from that had the two singles as different file types so they sounded louder. I could be wrong but check if you get the opportunity

I think it's been updated. At least it sounds different to me. Kyoto in particular seems a lot clearer

Whoa yea Kyoto sounds way different on Spotify now...chorus vocals and post-chorus guitar lead especially

whoa yeah, when soupy starts yelling in the first verse of kyoto its way more pronounced than it used to be. they toned down... the rhythm guitar it sounds like?

  23. We don't even have an objective answer about Spotify, this is just based off the fact that it sounds better to us now. We could all be deluding ourselves here (although at this point I'd say it seems likely that something changed).

Which is why I answered the way I did. The only people here who could tell you if it's changed are those who listened before and disliked it and listened now and think it sounds better/different. I don't have Apple Music so I can't, sorry!

I don't have qualms with anyone saying it's their best album, it might be technically. But it is far from my favourite and will probably end up being the one I listen to least. Curiously the one song that is really sticking with me (bar Raining in Kyoto) is It Must Get Lonely, which was not one of the ones I liked that much at first

I’m not emotionally relating to this as much as I did to Suburbia and TGG, BUT I also don’t emotionally connect to those albums anymore. Different time and place which I’ll always appreciate.

That said, this might be in my top 3 AOTY list. Really into this album still!
