Cool idea that they purposely tried to make it sound like a song from that era of their catalog. I much prefer this sound for them than the last couple albums.

agreeeed. I've only spun the last record maybe twice, sadly.

I’m not hearing Upsides/Suburbia era here at all. Soupy’s voice just sounds too different from 10 years ago

Great song. You know fans are going to scream for them to go back to their old sound now. I much prefer their past two albums to their earlier ones. I know I’m in the minority there.

I agree. I feel that the style of the song musically is more similar to their old style but his voice does sound different than it did 10 years ago but I guess it just changed.

It's not bad by any means, I guess I was just expecting it to sound MORE like that era TWY. Definitely not nearly as many layers as there would be now

I’d definitely put TGG in there as well. Each album is great. Growing with this band has been so much fun.

Can’t please anyone on this site. This was a treat, loved it. I’ll take this over having nothing. Helps that it’s a great song.

This was my only pseudo negative thought on the song. I was really hoping he would’ve used his old voice for this. Not that I dislike the way he sings now. It’s just different than what was...

It's not a guitar amp ;d you're not gonna sound the same after ten years, works like that for most people I'm sure.

I keep going back to this. Must admit I wasn't massive on the last record but every other album of theirs since Upsides has been gold for me.

Every album has been great. I love Suburbia just as much as No Closer. Because I can relate to those albums the most, but Sister Cities and Greatest Generation are equal quality.

    Just my two cents
