Second adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel. Zemeckis' followup to last years Welcome to Marwen (lol)

Starring Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Rock. On HBO Max 10/22

 

Watching the original for the first time on Netflix at the moment. Definitely glad I didn’t see this as a kid haha

 

I don't think I slept for a week haha

 

The original scared me for real.

 

Hard to imagine topping Angelica Houston but I really want this to be good. Hope it’s lot of make-up and practical effects? I worry about Zemeckis.

After watching the trailer yeah hm

 

we definitely aren't the target audience haha, I can't tell if Anne's accent and look being over the top is intentional or not but it looks like Octavia and Tucci will remain solid as always

 

Her accents are so bad it has to be intentional, same thing I took away from the hustle (don’t ask me why i watched that)

 

I'm gonna watch it. Fuck the haters.

 

Never seen the original. Is this a horror comedy?

 

It’s on Amazon prime, definitely check it out.

 

I hope Hathaway gets real ugly in some practical make-up at least

 

I’m honestly into it

 

Cautiously optimistic. The original is a staple kid nightmare movie.

 

They toned down a lot of the grossness that made the original terrifying. This ended up being a lot of fun though.
