I was inititally like (?) on Yen casting, but actress is great in the role. I can understand when characters have deep pre-written physical appearances, like Yen's pale skin, purple eyes, black hair, and Triss's red hair.
Also in the boat of thinking the first season was ok and this one is great. You can easily tell it received a bigger budget, and the actors feel a lot more organic in the roles. Anya absolutely crushes it as Yen and was the silver lining in the first season so I find it crazy people don’t like her in the role.
Yeah, wow, the season finale sets up so much. I never read the books, finished the first game, or started the second game, but it kind of seems like the first two seasons of the show set up the third game better than the first two games did? iirc Ciri wasn't even introduced until the third game. From the discussion in here it sounds like the show doesn't follow the games--or the books--very closely. But having played the third game, I'm excited for the third season. I guess what I'm most hoping for is seeing Geralt, Ciri, and Yen as a closer sort of makeshift family. Anya and Freya are killing it.
Great season. Though a little confused on the ending: were we not supposed to know Ciri was the emperor’s daughter? I can’t remember because in Witcher 3 it’s already known.
Hey, people! I could use your help, if you’re interested! The Center Cut is a (NSFW) podcast where we watch the first and last episode of a TV show season, or first 15 and last 15 minutes of a movie we've never seen and guess about what happened in the middle by fielding listener questions. Our next episode is based around Season 2 of The Witcher. We will be recording the middle of this coming week and could use your help! We need questions from you that would be easy to answer ONLY if we had watched the full season. Again, we only watched the first and last episodes. Questions can be either plot based, character based, or anything and everything in between. We will include your chorus username (or first and last initial if your prefer) in the show. Please and thank you! And if you're at all interested, we covered the first and last episodes of S1 (we've since gone back and watched the middle) back when it was released, in our first season of our show, which you can find in our feed: The Center Cut Podcast via Apple Podcasts The Center Cut Podcast via Spotify The Center Cut Web Feed
Ciri tells us her parents died at sea. but also, her dad is the only one we don’t see fade away in her dreamworld
I didn’t expect to like this show as much as I do. Generally have never really loved Cavill in any role but this one.
