Following your argument to its logical conclusion, not knowing what really happened with Kai is the intended way to tell the narrative as it gives us the same “privileged” and thus limited view of the events as the guests had, as I doubt they followed up on it.

this is a very interesting way to look at it and makes me appreciate this aspect more. Thanks.

I agree, but based on the interview White gave, it seems like he considered telling more of Kai's story but feared it wasn't his story to tell. Seems like this show was more his reconciliation with his own (rich white guy living in Hawaii) identity.

 

I think reading the interview that was posted in here a few weeks ago will clear a lot up for you.

Ordered food last night and kept complaining to my gf I got a different burger from the one I ordered. She said I was acting like that guy from The White Lotus and it hurt but was also so on point

Man I’m giving this a watch cause I saw it on some EOY lists and some of these people make the Roys look like good people

 

Def one of the year’s best shows.

 

Ending definitely made me a bit disappointed but I feel like that was the point.
