its a good season so far and i enjoy the slow burn / mystery aspect and wondering where everyone is going to end up. I'm sure I'll be wrong a good bit about certain characters and what they ultimately deserve. The Trump stuff was weird as yea, I didn't think it'd go full in on actual real world modern politics and it'll be interesting to see where that goes and how its received. Sure it's already kicked a hornets nest in certain online spaces...
Didn’t mind the Trump conversation at all, this show has always centered around issues of the moment and that was an extremely believable and relatable discussion; I was also taken aback for a second because of the bluntness but it wasn’t that surprising, and I vehemently disagree that it’ll make it feel dated. That said, I did think this one was pretty boring although the Greg stuff genuinely scared me haha
definitely a slow burn, but there will be payoff. i wouldn't want to piss off leslie bibb, that's for sure.
I haven’t seen the episode yet but this show has always satirized the current moment and has always centered around socio-politics. Sorry and too bad if peeps are expecting something escapist, but that’s not what this show is.
Definitely highly disagree with anyone calling this season boring. There's so much tension simmering, and so many half truths and partial backgrounds being revealed that I think it's been incredibly engrossing and I can't wait for some of the arcs to develop and pay off.
I think there are ways to talk about the moment without openly saying his name. Everyone would understand the subtext.
Really strongly disagree. We need more things calling him out by name, not less. Timelessness has very little to do with setting and more to do with themes. For example I don’t find Mr. Robot dated because they show Obama several times in news broadcasts, etc. It’s just the setting, the time and place. If anything, that show is more relevant now than it was then.
That Trump conversation is a very real thing that comes up in groups of friends that are trying to game out what each other's beliefs are.
That conversation is almost exactly what my friends and I are going through now, and it’s a very relevant topic that can fracture long-time friend groups
Yeah the whole calling yourself an independent when you are a really a Republican who doesn't want to admit it was damn bullseye for the current moment. This showed one of the reasons on why people do it is because they don't want the confrontation from people and use it as a shield for criticism.
Trump scene was great, I don’t agree that it poorly dates things. It also felt very in character so it wasn’t even like it was unearned. As far as the boring accusations, very into the story set for the season so far I just thought this episode was kinda a snooze compared to the first two.
oh really? i don't remember that. it's all good. this show is great, but it's not one i feel really needs more than one watch to pickup what's going down, so maybe the political stuff makes sense because it's so 'of the times'.
yeah at one of the dinners I think, they get into a discussion about strong women or something like that and Hillary gets name dropped by the mom I think lol
