haha I just took a masters course on the Revolution and when we read about the southern theater it was fun to read and notice all the little bits they borrowed from and blendered together for the story. Literally chuckled out loud when I read the name Tarleton
THR review : Scathingly Good Acting Helps Rescue Thailand-Set Season 3 of Mike White’s HBO Series From Fatigue
I was surprised to see this among the others, thought it was interesting. I don't agree, but whatever. The White Lotus Season 3 Review: It's Time to Admit This Show Is Not Good
Loved the first 2 seasons a lot, but doesn’t appear there’s a ton of positive hype for season 3. I don’t even know anything about this season. Who knows! I do wonder if a certain character assumingly not being there will be what’s missing?
That’s sort of my thought. The vibes seem off online apparently and the show hasn’t even aired yet. I’ll prob just enjoy it lol
I think it's pretty common for "the internet" to start loudly hating on a show after a few seasons of praise regardless of the show itself, you see it often. Maybe it's people who just need to be loud and be the center of attention, maybe it's a need to go against the grain and show how cool you are, or sometimes the show does get bad. Regardless, I will let my own watching of the show form my opinions
This weirdly often happens around season 3 of a show. The Bear and Succession are recent examples, people will say that they’re “treading water” or not doing anything they haven’t done before. I loved those seasons and am pretty confident I’ll like this.
Yeah season 3 of da bear is the big one that comes to mind, great season that got hate for no reason.
very easy to just wait till you actually see something and let it digest before forming an opinion. knee-jerk culture is a byproduct of twitter
I am interested in S3 primarily because of the boom/bust nature so far for me. S1 was Ryan Murphy-level awful to me, but S2 was brilliant, I thought.
