The range of emotions she was able to present with only her face. I think she probably expected something like that from Cam but it still hurt, and she probably felt betrayed by Harper after their heart-to-heart conversation on edibles about her friendships with women. All while figuring out her next move.
I thought there was an article where White said he wants Coolidge in the third season and it'll take place in Tokyo or something so I've operating under the assumption that she was safe the whole season. So yeah that really got me. Even after the fall, I was like she'll be fine.
Read an interview with Mike White where he said he plans to continue to Greg, Portia and Jack storyline “in a future season”
Portia was nice, but maddening at the end with the kidnapping situation and how she just went along with it.
I mean she was in a country she didn’t know with a dude twice her size that stole her phone what was she supposed to do?
When you're in public and he goes to the bathroom, you take his phone and run. Don't go sit on some steps out in the open. Go as far away as you can and get somewhere where he can't see you then start asking people for help. Someone there knew English enough to help her.
I mean, that makes sense, but Portia doesn’t even do that with Tanya and Greg at the beginning. She’s afraid to leave her room. She’s the female version of Albie, naive as all hell. Doesn’t help herself at all.
Portia not trying to call any authorities at the airport is kind of questionable but I could see her telling herself that the whole thing is nuts and they’re probably overthinking it. But when she finds out Tanya is dead and is just like oh hey can I get your number I was thinking uh yeah most people would need a minute to process some guilt or similar emotions here. Anyway I liked that because all these characters are flawed as hell
