I am not sure exactly. I started the series a handful of times many years ago but never finished it, and I am positive that I read the first three multiple times, and New Spring, but I don't know if I stopped during book 4 or 5 back then. I am pretty sure I've never read any of Lord of Chaos at all, and I certainly had never gotten to the end of Fires of Heaven before, because all of those major developments were completely new to me and I had no idea they were coming. I am definitely in uncharted territory now.
Please tell me the Prime Video thing is just a sticker. It irks me so much when they do that to books.
Oh no, that is part of the cover. If that was a sticker I definitely would have ripped it the F off before taking that pic haha
Okay, just finished Lord of Chaos. That was a satisfying end. So now I have to trudge through 7 through 10, right?
With how much you seem to be enjoying it, it may not feel like a trudge. I think 7-9 all have really great moments scattered throughout, personally. The climax of 9 is one of the best things in the whole series.
I've only read the prologue so far of Lord of Chaos, and it's been several weeks. I am still absolutely loving the story, but it's been a shit few weeks at work, insanely stressful, and even when I have a little bit of downtime at home I can't even really read or focus. I think I need to take a vacation and try to get back into the book.
Humble Bundle is doing the WoT comics (new spring and EOTW) amongst others: Humble Book Bundle: Wheel of Time and More Dynamite Books! (pay what you want and help charity)
Almost done with book 7. I'm getting emotional at this Mat chapter, I feel his frustration so much. Damn Elayne doesn't believe him that Tylin has been sexually harassing him and even after she laughs in his face, he hands her his foxhead medallion to keep her safe from Moghedien. What the heck. These damn women don't deserve him.
I just started book 7 myself. So far just dealing with the aftermath of Dumai's Wells but I'm loving it Also just found out about the Wheel of Time Compendium app. Basically an expanded glossary of characters that doesn't have spoilers for books past the one you're reading. Wish I'd known about this before. Googling character names is dangerous
Yep. I just started book 8 and that app has been amazing. Too many Wise Ones and Aes Sedai names and so on to keep track of.
WOT compendium app was necessary for me when I just read the series. I learned at some point to just let the characters wash over you and move past them like listening to jazz since there is no possible way to know or care about them all. So many characters that only showed up once.
Finished Path of Daggers. This book was structured weird. Didn't feel like a full story as in other books. Also no Mat Cauthon. BOOOOOOOO!!!
I'm officially halfway through the series Liked a lot of Crown of Swords but the final chapter wasn't great. The Mat stuff before it is really good though. ... And reading the post above after how this book leaves him, wtf?!
My favorite thing about people hitting “the slog” now that they’re all published is seeing that it was never a slog to begin with.
Yeah, as someone that binged the series for the first time last year, I was expecting the slog to be worse. It wasn’t “bad”, just not a lot happened. Sanderson kicked it into high gear once he took over though
I'm almost done with Winter's Heart. I had a goal of finishing the series in a year, which looks like it's not happening. So I'm debating using some Audible credits to help me by listening and reading at the same time.
That’s how I got through so quick! I’d listen and read! My local library app Libby had all the audiobooks too, so I could use that for free!
