Reading The Dragon Reborn and so many wild moments in this book. I love how Mat is a badass with a quarterstaff and he's really lucky right now for some reason. And I just read the part where Rand kills 10+ men then used saidar to make the corpses kneel to him. Madness!
If I'm reading these signs correctly, my jaw dropped when I realized there's a Forsaken ruling in Illian, Camelyn, AND Tear. I should be done with book 3 soon. I think I read it faster than the 2nd.
An observation... as Nynaeve was convincing this Wisdom in Tear to help them with half truths I kept thinking, wow she is starting to become like Moirane. I hope she finally understands why the Aes Sedai do what they do. Then the chapter ends with Egwene telling her, "You manipulate people as well as Moirane." Daaaaaaamn.
Three feels like a race and it’s so fun. The Nynaeve/Moiraine dynamic is so pivotal to the whole first trilogy to me. Love how they’re playing with it in the show, too.
Oh no, I'm so worried... I know Moiraine is most likely to die. But not so soon! I'm scared she's going to die fighting this Forsaken in Tear. Aaaaaahhhhhh... no more jokes with Lan about passing him off. I should be done today or tomorrow.
It's funny reading your running commentary because I just finished the book about a week or two ago and so much of wheat you're saying echoes what I was thinking while I was reading it.
Wow, the first two chapters of Shadow Rising. The three simultaneous perspectives of Perrin, Mat, and Rand inside the Stone of Tear.
Thank you! It's frustrating to have no one to talk to! I keep telling my sister bits and pieces of the story to entice her, but it's pointless. I'm sure my audible reactions must be annoying though. I laugh out loud or gasp frequently.
You’re in my favorite book of the series, so definitely keep reacting here. The world truly explodes in growth this one and it’s so exciting.
I plowed through all the books last year with the exception of New Spring. I needed some non WoT books as a palate cleanser after that amount of time investment! I’m ready and will probably dive into New Spring finally
the very first thing I remember is Lan I think being in the trenches in the snow fighting bad guys? the book is basically the story of how he became what's her name's ward right
You've passed me now. I switched from second to first shift at work and it's been a rough adjustment, so I haven't had any time to read really. I finished "Whirlpools in the Pattern" but I haven't started Chapter 3 yet. I remember reading New Spring roughly around when it was first published and I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm really loving TSR so far. I like that everyone is in the same place right now. The opening of chapter 9 as time as passes for everyone was lovely. I'm also digging the romance, haha. Perrin and Faile officially together, Nynaeve spending time with Lan on moonlit walks, Rand and Elayne stealing kisses in dark corners. Cute!
Holy cow... I'm on a Mat chapter. He walked through the ter'angreal to get answers to his questions and he's in another world with alien like people?!? My excitement level is at a high like when Rand, Hurin, and Loail went through the portal stone. Okay, going to finish this chapter. I had to pause and express my excitement for a second.
Amazing chapter after chapter. That particular one just kept getting better and better. I laughed so much at the end. Rand AND Moiraine stepping out, hahaha.
Oh gosh! Mat Cauthon, you fool! He blabbers on and on without thinking about a situation. It's so funny. He just went through the ter'angreal again but the people are different and grant wishes instead. And now I'm on a cliffhanger because the next chapter is Rand!
Perrin... forming a militia and talking like a soldier to the people around Emond's Field, gathering them to protect themselves against Trollocs and resist the Whitecloaks. Perrin giving orders. This is so exciting. Why do I get such a goofy smile reading this book?! My friends will never understand.
I'm most emotionally invested in Perrin's storyline in this book. My reading slowed down a bit with the other POVs, but now I'm back with Perrin and in my feels. He just lost friends fighting Trollocs and is reunited with the Tinkers from book 1.
