I had completely forgotten (Fires of Heaven spoilers if you haven’t finished the entire book): that Nynaeve and Moghedien were also in the battle between Rand and Rahvin.
Graendal straight up tells us where Demandred is hiding in Lord of Chaos and we all missed it. This re-read has been great.
I’m like 100 pages into The Eye of the World and I can already tell this is going be a mesmerizing, fun read
immediately after i posted that i remembered that rhythm of war is out in four months and i wanted to do some cosmere rereads so
I'm in Path of Daggers now. The "slog" isn't bad at all... it's just very weirdly paced and structured.
I’m at the climax of Winter’s Heart. Oh how I hope to see this on the show (if they ever make it this far).
Talking to myself again, I’m sure, but 2/3 through The Gathering Storm and updated character power rankings: 1. Nynaeve (unchanged) 2. Siuan (unchanged) 3. Aviendha (new) 4. Thom (unchanged) 5. Mat (up 1) 6. Loial (down 3, mainly due to being sidelined) 7. Egwene (down 2) 8. Lan (down 1) 9. Verin (new) 10. Gareth (down 2) I’d forgotten how sidelined so many excellent characters from the early books got in the middle stretch.
After I finish malazan I need to figure out what to do about this series. I've read/listened to 10 books but just completely lost steam on it. And now I'd need a major refresher to get back into it.
Yeah I've heard that and it does help, but it's been 6+ months since I read the last one and need to find a good recap of the books.
I was surprised to see Lan so low but I looked at everyone above him and was like damn, makes sense. What a cast of characters. Maybe I wouldn’t have Mat up there until Sanderson's run.
Lan gets sidelined quite a bit in the slog and I don’t think that helps. But a top twenty still seems to fall short.
