Oh, hey, the Towers of Midnight audiobook is all messed up. Pressed play and I got the “audible” intro and then it immediately played “Chapter 2” and it was actually Chapter 12 of the book. Skipping ahead, “Chapter 13” is actually the prologue and the first 11 chapters of the book. I didn’t immeditately catch on so I listened to all of Chapter 12 already. :/
went on a tolkien detour for a little while but i'm ready to jump back into (or just restart because i only read like three chapters) the great hunt.
Just don’t plan on “one more chapter”-ing the final book. That’s how you don’t sleep and end up reading for 17 straight hours.
I never do that for two reasons. 1) a chapter typically takes me like an hour at least and 2) reading puts me right to sleep
Just finished Chapter 13. I don’t know that I’m emotionally prepared for this book. Already there have been moments that have had me choke up.
i'm about 1/3 done with TGH (sidenote: i read a comment online that someone read 3 of these books in a day, which is frustrating because I spent hours reading this weekend and progressed about 100 pages) anyway i'm loving it. my favorite core characters are Egwene and Moirane. Mat's still annoying though
You can actually see me saying in this thread how much I hated Mat at the beginning. He was probably my least favorite character through a number of the early books. He ended up being one of my absolute favorites.
one of my resolutions for the year is to get back into reading, and i think i may have to start here. it’s between this and the Kingkiller Chronicles but this series seems much more my shit. also i’d rather have 13 novels and a real conclusion to look forward to than 2 stories with no finality
I agree but that's more out of love for this series than it is anything against Kingkiller since I rather enjoyed those books.
yeah i’ll be checking out both for sure, i just can’t pass up starting a series knowing i have thirteen quality books/months of reading ahead. that’s the dream
