My favorite sections of the entire series were just the Forsaken sitting around scheming. A lot of perfect/terrifying villains all around.

 

At the halfway point the ones that really stand out are:

Edit: oh god. Loail is probably at the top. I just haven't heard from him in a while so he slipped my mind.

The Forsaken were wonderful when we got those glimpses.

 

Siuan is also great... @scottlechowicz have you figured out when you're going to read the prequel yet?

 

I am ashamed and have forgotten the face of my father with this list.

 

No idea. I am just going by the book order of audible.

 

Most of the parents of the main six are pretty great, too. So many good supporting cast members.

 

I have Eye of the World on Audible. I think I'm going to start my re-read post-Oathbringer. That seems like an iconic time to start.

 

The Reunions are always heartbreaking, especially when Rand turned on Tam

 

Oh, I also dig Birgette (just guessing on that spelling.) though she hasn't really gotten a chance to shine.

 

Lol I forgot all the Seanchan...They're like my favorite fantasy race ever. Tuon is top 3, The Empress too, Karede, Egeanin, Tylee....

The prophet was super interesting.

 

Yeah was just about to add Birgette too.

 

Yeah she's great (Birgitte) too. I will have to keep a running ranking during my re-read

 

Book 8 is done. I appreciated that it was a little shorter.

14 damn books is too many books! Goodness.

Book 9. Here we go.

 

Winter's Heart is low key in the top three or four of the series for me.

 

It's why I listened to the audiobooks rather than read the books. I love the series and it means a lot to me but I am not sure I would have gotten through it without audiobooks, haha.

Faile is kidnapped by Shaido who strip her naked and make her march through the snow. And she says it's "a little insulting" that none of her captors are staring at her sexually?

That's some pretty disgusting writing right there.

 

After taking an extended break from the series, I finally went back and finished Winter’s Heart.

I think my plan from here on out is to alternate a WoT book with something else. I’ve learned that just going back-to-back really makes some of the things I find annoying stand out.

So, I’ll probably do another book before I jump into Twilight. But I’m curious to see how this new development plays out.
