I believe that was Sammael. There’s potential that he isn’t dead and will be captured and play a similar role to Asmodean in beginning Rand’s training in the One Power

Oh, I forgot what he looked like from that one scene. Blending Asmodean and Sammael into one Forsaken and saving Demandred as the one we don't know could work pretty effectively.

Show Alanna is such a badass. Love to see the Green Ajah actually presented as the battle Ajah.

    Tai'shar Manetheren!

What a damn episode. They’re certainly telling the story like next episode isn’t the “we’re not renewing you” series finale, which gives me a bit of hope.

Given the grander scheme of adapting 14 books, I would’ve been okay if they had ended the Fain storyline, though. And ended the Perrin vs the Whitecloaks storyline, too.

Also it’s kinda funny how Fades have kinda just disappeared from the series after the first season they were presented as such a Big Bad. Would’ve loved to see the Women’s Circle take down a Fade after they took down like 15 trollocs, haha.

I don’t think Loial is actually dead, is he?

Just watched 7. Very good except for a few corny moments. I like when they dont feel they have to mix every storyline constantly.

My bets are on Mat for next week and a tie in scene at the end and then, fingers crossed, s4 announcement. Definitely an improvement all around for s3.

Man, this season was such a dramatic step up in quality. I almost forgot that Elaida is one of my least favorite characters ever until today.

Amazon you better renew this. It’s lapping Rings of Power in quality.

Agreed! I couldn’t make it through the last season of Rings Of Power. This was great though!

Holy crap I didn't realize this was episode 8 until the very end when we were getting the montage of everyone to end and I was like noooooooo I though this was the penultimate episode! What a fantastic season, can't wait to see where the show goes from here, there were so many new developments!

Damn, they canceled it. Unsurprising, but this is so much better than Rings of Power that it’s sad to see.

Really?! That is wild considering how much better this past season was. It seemed like it had a good bit of hype?

They canceled if acknowledging they loved the show and thought it was a quality product. Just expensive to make. Like. Why be a trillion dollar company if you don’t frivolously spend a few.

if bezos wasn't a complete and total motherfucker they would just keep making the show because it is fantastic and they have plenty of money but he is a human pile of shit

has Rings of Power been doing good numbers???
I remember them saying the first season of that cost like a billion dollars, and I think Wheel of Time has been the better show, even with all of its issues. (I only watched one episode of Rings of Power 2nd season though.)

It has slightly higher viewership, supposedly. The Tolkien brand is much larger and "name basis" so that tracks for me. I wish we could just live in a world with both because high budget fantasy is so lovely.

Like, if I'm Sanderson shopping Mistborn (or God forbid, Stormlight) or Brown shopping Red Rising... knowing that your series could just abruptly be canceled before it's finished and leaving your fans high and dry would make me so extremely picky. Sometimes I think I'd rather them go the Invincible animated route than live action.

changes from the books for movies and TV shows almost always bother me, and it could be because I am more familiar with and closer to Tolkien's books, but Rings of Power felt a lot like fan fiction to me, whereas Wheel of Time - even with all of the changes - felt like a take on the story. I found myself really losing interest in Rings of Power over time even though it was a solid show.

I liked the explanation that “this is the next turning of the wheel for the third age” as a way to explain the changes. Some I really hated. Some were great.

But yeah, RoP definitely feels like fanfic.

I think the biggest hurdle for me with WoT was that they aged up the characters, or made them less 'innocent' I guess - like Rand & Egwene having sex in The Winespring Inn when they were alone for a few minutes. I just love how the books start off with them basically being children and not worldly at all, and how that changes so drastically over time as the story expands. but I had to just put that attachment aside for the show and go with it.

most of my other complaints were not in-story so much and were more real world / behind the scenes - like I hated how rushed the pilot episode was and felt like almost every episode needed more time for the story to breath and spread it's wings, but especially that pilot. I remember reading that in particular was a huge fight, where they really pushed hard to be able to have the pilot be a little longer and Amazon said no.

Do we know if Sando or Brown are anywhere close to inking something for a tv or movie series? I’ve always been interested in seeing red rising as a TV show but I have no idea how they would do it without a huge budget or if it was animated. How I envision the visuals in my head may be way different than the art direction they’d take, so that would be cool to see how they represent all the colors

As recent as last year, Sando saw actors in mist cloaks, but it fell through just before filming, so I suspect it’s sooner rather than later before we see Mistborn.
