Oh shit, everyone. They announced that Rhuidean WILL BE in season 3. I legit broke out in chills, haha. It's all I've ever wanted from whatever adaptation came. I hope they do it well. It's my second favorite moment in fantasy ever.
Is there any talk at all or push for more episodes per season...??? I feel like 10-12 would be chef's kiss.
10 makes so much more sense, but nothing I’ve seen this weekend out of NYCC. Rafe got to promote the show for the first time due to the strikes so he did a surprise panel.
I really feel like Amazon might cancel this after season three so I’m trying to really just appreciate what we get. But I can’t figure out if the complete lack of advertising for a MUCH better season two comes down to the strikes or if it’s Amazon preparing to back out. This and Rings of Power both really need a few more episodes a season.
When Sam and Frodo are lying in Mordor and Sam looks up and sees a star through all the clouds and knows that evil is passing and beauty/good are forever.
Apparently season three is primarily focusing on The Shadow Rising with “slight Fires of Heaven”… I think we book readers (who have finished book five) all know what’s happening at the end of season three.
That's good news. I got nervous this season with a few things that happened that I thought would be replacements or deviations from some of the source material to come. I'm sure I've mentioned this elsewhere in either the fantasy or WOT book thread, but 4/5/6 is just a perfect fantasy 'trilogy' and I'm happy we're going to get those moments on screen. A tease for non-book readers is that those of us who haven't really felt Mat's arc in the show (me!), will hopefully have our minds changed as book 4 especially really focuses' on him (not that any of the other characters get left behind). I do have a feeling that the show will be too expensive / expansive to continue and I wonder what they will change to give it a satisfying 'ending' if it were to not go past 3 seasons.
I really wish the actors hadn’t been on strike so they could’ve talked about this season as it aired. Probably calculated on Amazon’s part to not renew after season three… which is a shame. This season was such a marked step up in quality.
It's not canceled and season three has been filmed as far as I'm aware, but I'm expecting them to cancel it before season four just based on their complete lack of advertising for season two.
Would be a dang shame. Season 2 was a marked improvement, and the actors/actresses portraying all the main characters rule, and I’ve fully bought in on them. The actor playing Rand seems especially in tune with him, I think he’s read all the books at least once at this point.
I have a lot of issues with this show and how they're adapting this story, but I really wish it got the same level of support ($$$) that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power gets from Amazon Bezos can afford both, we all know this
That 11-minute clip on Prime is wild. Seeing someone cut in half and a lot of blood spurting leads me to think we got a much more violent season incoming.
