I'm gonna have to go back and brush up on that scene - I can't remember who the Aes Sedai were with Nynaeve when she was being Tested.
After some searching, definitely think it's Sheriam. Apparently all the people I thought were in the scene come in after the test.
put a spoiler on that for season 1 and this clip, and probably a super super light implication of something from Fires of Heaven So Rand has already slept with Egwene, and will probably sleep with... Selene... based on this. Feels like that could really dampen some scenes that happen later on in the series, particularly Fires of Heaven.
Excited for Friday but nervous about when I'll find the time to watch. Big weekend but I'll squeeze it in. I hope this season is good. The trailers aren't really hyping me up much, but I'll watch regardless and ultimately find some things to like, but I really want to LOVE this.
The clip with Nynaeve about to be Tested made me feel hopeful because the pacing was assured and not rushed at all. It let the scene play out and didn't just blast right through the events at a breakneck pace, which is something I feel Season 1 did a lot of vs. Amazon's other big fantasy show LOTR:RoP
I can't lie, I am definitely going to watch the first three episodes all in a row the first chance I get this weekend.
I made plans that may keep me from them until Tuesday. In my defense, I made these plans 14 months ago, haha.

I started watching the first episode when I got home from work last night around 8 PM and my wife yelled at me for watching it without her, which was a good sign because she seemed 50/50 on even wanting to keep watching it after Season 1, but it also meant that I had to wait until today because she was tired and heading to bed.
Binged straight through the first 3 episodes last night and found them to be way more compelling than last season. I enjoyed season 1 by watching characters I love come to life whereas this season the plot has me super interested to see how we get to the big plot beats. I want to hear everyone’s theories on where Rand’s plot line goes this season!
So i liked episode 1 but didnt enjoy 2 as much. It has the same problem as 1 in which its moving way too fast, and a lot of the dialogue is corny and unnatural. Theyre trying to pack so much in, that every single line of dialogue is meant to be this huge, profound, insightful bit of advice and people just dont talk like that. Rand and selene and his channeling issue has been crammed into just a few scenes. I think the acting and visuals are a bit better, but its just a series of big moment scenes all stitched together in the episode with a lack of cohesion and subtlety. Lastly, i just dont think i like a lot of the overall design decisions. The music is distracting and i dislike a lot of the filming techniques (slow motion, zoom outs, cuts). Everything's just a bit off for my taste. EDIT: I am going to be fair and also say good things when they're warranted and episode 3 was very good. Still a bit fast on the Rand line, and now Perrin's arc is getting confusing, and tbh, everyone is not really where they're meant to be from the books, but episode 3 had more breathing room, and was very well acted and shot and I could see those on the fence being reeled back in.
Finally getting to start episode one. So glad they found a way to incorporate the Forsaken/dark friend prologue. VERIN!!!!
Hearing Bayle Domon saying “do be” for the first time is one of those small things that absolutely sparked joy about these characters coming to life.
i was a bit lost with the time jump at the beginning. might rewatch season 1 before the next episodes drop, or maybe just a refresher on youtube. but liking what i understand so far!
Man, the pacing on this season makes so much more sense and yet it’s also flying. Some of the small plot tweaks are very interesting and could lead to a lot of fun. My only major misstep thus far is that I think they cast Sheriam too old.
I watched Season 1 when it first came out and then did a rewatch a little while ago, and I started the first episode of Season 2 and had no idea where anyone was or what they were doing haha It honestly felt like I just jumped in and started watching an episode mid Season 2. I haven't watched the the next two episodes though, so maybe it'll make more sense soon.
From what I pieced together, it’s been a 6-9 month time jump. Egwene and Nynaeve are obviously at the White Tower. As is Mat (I do like the new actor more than I expected to). I think Perrin and the gang are already at Toman Head (definitely are by the end of episode 2). Moiraine and Lan are at Verin’s place somewhere in the Borderlands (which, if I’m not mistaken, that’s where she goes in TGH, just maybe not Verin’s). Episode 2 mild spoiler: Rand is in Cairhien, I’m pretty sure.
I like this season so far. Most of the changes make sense. The way Selene was introduced in the books was always sus, I like this introduction better. Pacing still feels a little breakneck, but that might just be how it always is since the books are mind numbingly slow at points.
Like I said, I haven't watched all 3 episodes yet, but in general I don't mind time jumps if it then allows the season itself to breathe a little bit and ease up the pacing.
They’ve gotten a lot of things half right or half wrong… but they fuckin’ NAILED Nynaeve’s Accepted test.
