mother! is maybe the worst movie of the 21st century, competing with Juno and all Nicolas Winding Refn films.

for better or worse Neon Demon and mother were my biggest well that certainly was a movie experiences

I don't know, is the reason I enjoy mother! because I went into it knowing that it was a retelling of the bible/christianity or whatever?

 

I too agree that mother! is absolute dogshit. I can’t think of a movie that made me that angry in a long time

Remember when people would yell penis in crowded areas to get attention? That is one of two motivations for mother!, the other being that Aronofsky wanted to give his child bride work.

As much as I hate Aronofsky's films, The Wrestler is still really good and heartbreaking even when Aronofsky tries to ruin it (angry lesbian daughter, Tomei literally comparing Rourke to Jesus).

 

Have somewhat soured on this for obvious reasons but will absolutely be watching for Fraser

 

Fraser has a good shot of winning best actor and it being a classic case of "happy for him, wish it was for a better movie tho".

I kinda feel like a dick since i haven't seen it and i've made up my mind about it since it is from a director i don't like

 

Oh my god they totally released this today because the election will drown out any discourse
