Alright Aronofsky, after hours upon hours of My 600 Lb Life, let's see if you can shock me somehow in this

the script is online and there are one or two binge eating scenes that I hope are the eating equivalent of the drug scenes in Requiem.

 

this will be a movie that exists, mark my words

 

no it isn’t and here’s my reason why

 

I'm on board

 

Very excited for this.

 

Aronofsky is more huge miss than hit, and he should probably be in jail for mother!, but I'll check this out for Fraser

Man... that video of Brendan makes my heart happy. Absolutely stoked for him.

 

Extremely excited for this, but some of the writing around it is (not surprisingly) disgusting:

 

I am excited for Fraser but I have a sinking feeling about the movie itself

 

yeah that's what the pods ive been hearing have been saying. which ... lines up with darren's recent output

 

If anything, it is a bigger miracle for Fraser if his performance is that good because Aronofsky tends to let actors overdo it.

 

i don't really agree with that. i do kinda feel like the performances he gets tend to blow away the story he's directing

 

I love most of what he does and I'm hoping I'll love this too!

 

Not interested in revisiting Requiem, but I really liked The Wrestler and mother! and truly love Pi and Black Swan. Haven't seen the others. Fraser is more the appeal here for me than Aronofsky in all honesty, but I enjoy them both

 

The wrestler is easily his best. I absolutely loved the fountain in college but am afraid to watch it now because I don’t think it’ll hold up. The score for that movie is fantastic. The rest are good to outright terrible.

 

I thought that about The Fountain as I hadn't seen it in over 10 years but on rewatch I think I loved it even more.

 

Yup… Clint Mansell crushed that score. One of my favorites.
